Supposed to be out for two weeks. He will miss the qualifier tonight and almost certainly the weekend games.

Scharner is a goal-threat. He usually plays in midfield, so has a better chance at getting goals (buts defender points for it).

Wheater of Middlesborough is a good bet for a cheap defender, take a look at his stats. gets quiet a few bonus points too and he's young so I think this year he'll be even better than last year

No the subs do not score every week.

If one of your players from your chosen starting 11 is out injured or suspended or just doesn't play then the sub comes in instead. Your subs are in order so whoever you have picked as 12 comes in first, if you lose another player then 13 comes in.

Cheers man. I can seriously cut down on the quality of my subs. I have Ireland and wheater on the bench. Hopefully I can afford to give poor little Fernando a home now..;)

Need advice on team guys. What changes would you make ? Considering dropping Lescott for someone cheaper and using the extra money to swap Valencia with Fabregas. Thoughts ? (I know his currently injured). Was also considering somehow swapping either Valencia or Arteta for Young.

I'd lose either Torres or Gerrard and invest heavily in your defence. A solid defence gets you more points per fee

lescott is known to get the odd goal and when defenders score you get a fair few points,eboue is going to get his game and arsenal are goin to win games so thats where i put the 6 million i had left for a midfielder

Hmm well Lescott & Laurson were both in the team of the season last year. The other two are fairly solid specially as Young is Villas only right back so will get plenty of minutes.

I think Santa is way overpriced considering he has no Bentley to supply him, I'd ship him out for starters.

I would get rid of Mascherano for the moment because he is at the Olympics and replace him with another player.
Get rid of Santa Cruz for someone cheaper as you have 2 good strikers already and keep Lescott as he will get you lots of points
ohh and having 3 players from the same team is dangerous because if team loses you will not get much points.

Yeh, agree with dropping Masch and Santa Cruz.

Petrov and A Johnson would be a better pairing perhaps.

You'd be fine until you try to make a transfer. At that point it would make you go back to having 3 utd players

As I recall, last year villa were brilliant defensively in the first half of the season... dwindled in the second half. Perhaps the other way around this year

Lol at all those playing Hamann. He won't start most games.

Also, why pick a defensive midfielder like Mascherano? They get feck all points for goals and assists and generally pick up more yellow cards than 'flair' players.

Hamann is cheap though, hes only 4.5. Who would you suggest as an alternative ?

Yeah I just saw that he's on the injury list. Any idea how long for? I'll just stick someone else in the team for now then swap them when he gets back.

EDIT: It'll be either Ballack or Deco going in for Week 1 I think.
