Bye bye captain Gerrard... Torres my love will be awarded the armband. Watch Gerrard destroy Pompey next weekend :pac:

    41 and 65(Torres incl) points.

Lampard, you legend! Thank Christ I switched the captains armband to someone worthwhile! :)

    51 this week.

Broke the 100 in boards this week in at number 90. From a terrible start im slowly improving.

Out of the cup this week by 4 pts. 4 pts which were my own fault after making a stupid transfer of valencia for dempsey when all I needed to do was play etherington who i left on the bench who in turn ended up getting 6 points.

Tip:double transfers are rarely worth it no matter how good they may seem.

46 sees me at 153 in the Boards league. Very happy with my recent climb up the table.

Some nice double gameweeks for a few teams now.

40 points lost my head to head :(

    44 points.

Consolidation really. Climbed to about 700th in the world and still 9th in Boards.

Lampards red card is being reviewed by the FA tomorrow.

Giovanni is gone, done nothing since November really- Simon Davies in for the double gameweek so it's Ireland, Ronaldo, Vidic and Davis all playing twice in the double week for me.

I'd think about taking the hit on Evra for the united double gameweek but I can't see him starting seeing as the chap has between injury and suspension missed about 9 games now.

The question is, Schwartzer is my sub keeper and they have Wigan and Man Utd. two teams on a run. Is it worth taking the punt on him and hoping he gets one cleanie and a load of saves or is Reina a safer bet away to misfiring Pompey. Decisions decisions.

Have 3 city players in my team and have Shay as well from being a newcastle player, do not need to do any transfers but when i go to transfer page, it tells me i have too many city players now(as have 4), will i have to take one of them out of squad or will it be ok as had him(shay) before they changed him to city player on the site.

You can leave all 4 in if you do not make a transfer, but if you are going to make a transfer it will force you to get rid of one of your City Players. Might be a good idea to leave the 4 in for the double gameweek but I wouldn't like having 4 (or even 3) city players in my team after that point.

Cheers, was hoping that, sneaked Given(hope that knee injury was fake) in yesterday(when they still had him as toon player). Have 9 players hopefully playing twice in next gameweek. given, koncheskey, oshea (dodgy),de jong, ireland, ronaldo(c),johnson, bellamy, berbatov

    * Lampard replaced by Ronaldo
    * Kuyt replaced by Malbranque

These transfers will deduct the following points from your total: 4

    Hmmmm worth it?

Maybe, but bear 2 things in mind:
    1. Lampard is unlikely to be suspended, he will probably get the red card overturned later today (and they are home to Hull on saturday).
    2. Malbranque will not be playing in gameweek 27. ManU, Spurs, Sunderland and Portsmouth have no game, consider if you will be able to put out 11 players that week without dropping further points through transfres

I'm still hoping Lampard's ban will be overturned.

I did bring in Mendy and apparently he's suspended. D'oh!

My team is bad with injuries & suspentions at the minute. Im holding out for Lampard as well but Im awful tempted to take an 8 point hit to get some City players in.

Will then have 9 of my team playin twice...will it be worth it?

    Shwartezer

    Bosingwa Johnston Vidic Bridge

    Ireland Ronaldo (C) Mullins

    Robinho Cisse Berbatov

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 561 ✭✭✭Shurwhynot

Does this mean that lampards points will get reinstated in FF?

I'm tempted to bring Tevez in for Anelka but i know once Rooney is back, Tevez will be plnked back on the bench.

Its either that or bring VdS in for Reina.

    Opinions people??

No. He was still sent off during the game. That's all they care about.

    Team for the weekend:

    Schwarzer
    Vidic Paintsil Boswinga A.Cole
    Ronaldo Lampard Ireland Dempsey
    Berbatov Bellamy

    Subs: Turnbull L.Young Denilson C.Cole

    8 doublers!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,745 ✭✭✭doonothing

Hmm... I'm tempted to oust Lampard for Ronaldo anyway, I have a feeling Ronaldo's about to hit his stride :) Then again, I'd say you can find at least one pst a wekk in this thread saying the exact same thing!
    Decisions decisions!

£9.5m for Arshavin. Listed as a striker and the Russian league finished in November.

    Pass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Hmmmm decisions, decisions. Need a striker to fit into the team. Good to have A. Young back in the side so I think I'll be using my one transfer to get one of the double headers in, probably Berbatov.

    Right now I'm thinking -

    Schwarzer

    Bosignwa----O'Shea
    Figueroa----Baines

    Ronaldo (C)--Ireland
    Cahill----A. Young

    Robinho----Berbatov

Subs: Myhill, C. Cole, Delap, Olsson

Taking a bit of a risk dropping Cole considering his current form but he'll find it tough to score against that United back line. The only real risk is will O'Shea play if Evra's back? Questionable.

6 players potentially playing twice is solid though.

    Given to start?

I don't know whether to go with him or Schwarzer for the gameweek.

Man City have 2 matches don't forget.

Have potentially 7 players playing twice this gameweek - :D

    Schwarzer

    Vidic, Bosingwa, Paintsil, Zabaleta

Davies, Ronnie (C), Lampard, Ireland, Arteta

    Zaki

Bench: Turnbull, Djourou, C.Cole, King (Boro)

Zabaleta could be dropped I reckon though and having 3 Fulham players doesnt bring me much confidence however :o

    vds

    a cole - figueroa - bridge - l young - painstil

    swp - ronaldo

    rvp - berbatov - cisse

subs: schwarzer - denilson - geovanni - mccann

i did nt have ronaldo captain the last two weeks and picking my brains whether to make him captain this gw, if vds keeps 2 clean sheets as captain its 24 points!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

If O' Shea plays both games I should have 5 playing the double gameweek. Subbed out Geovanni for Dempsey

    Reina

    Vidic --- O'Shea --- Bosingwa --- L. Young

    Ronaldo (c) --- Ireland --- Lampard --- Dempsey

    Agbonlahor --- McCarthy

    Subs: Ameobi, Andrews, Olsson

    Hey Guys,

Does anyone know anything about these injuries? Valencia & Cisse?

Didn't know The Ciss was injured but it says on phsioroom he is

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,798 ✭✭✭Mr. Incognito

    Double week!

    1: Van der Sar

    2: Bosingwa
    3: Carragher
    4: Vidic
    5: Lescott
    6: Cole A

    7: Ronaldo(C)
    8: Ireland
    9: Davies
    10: Lampard

    11: Camara

Giovanni out for Davies. Reina out for VDS (4 point hit) C. Cole dropped to the bench for Camara.

I really hope United keep the two clean sheets or that 4 point hit is looking silly.

Arteta and Agbonlahor out SW Phillips and Robinho in.

    VDS
    L Young Lescott Vidic Boswinga

Um, are you copying me?! :p

You think Carlton Cole will break United's clean sheet run?!

I'm keeping him on the bench. Ashley starts for me. Rest of the team is the same as yours.

Defence and midfield are the places to invest money.Forwards usually don't have as good points to price ration. Can never see why you would have more than 1 forward playing.

10th highest striker is Crouch on 91. 10th highest defender is Corluka on 79.

Having 5 midfielders is important though.

    3-5-2 is the best imo.

    Crouch costs 7.7
    Corluka costs 5.6
    ;)

I have been playing 4-5-1 for the last couple of weeks.

A quick look at the top ten reveals teams that mostly have a 3-4-3 formation, or at least 3 strikers up front anyway. Very few have 5 defenders.

There really is no magic formula in terms of formation; it's more important to buy value players in the right position at the right time.

Just a quick heads up that Robbie Keane is not eligible to play for Spurs in the FA cup, league cup and UEFA cup. He should be well fresh for the league games and will most likely play them all, being captain.

Tottenham's fixture list for the next month is as follows:

    Barclays Premier League (Arsenal h)
    UEFA Cup
    Barclays Premier League (Hull a)
    UEFA Cup
    Carling Cup
    Barclays Premier League (Boro h)

So you can see a lot of rotation with Keane raring to go in the league games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,625 ✭✭✭✭BaZmO*

Regardless of the ineligibility to play the cup games he was always going to play all the league games due to him being captain. And I reckon he'll start to bang them in cos he's got something to prove now. Harry really does have a knack of getting players that have something to prove.

I'm gonna have a look at Keane in the next game or two and if he gets a goal or two i reckon he'll go on a decent run.
