Up to 37th now - 54points this week! - Fulham players been the bargain buys this year so far I reckon.

Any news on Arteta yet? Already made one sub so dont really want to make another

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,692 ✭✭✭Loomis

I'm officially giving up on the fantasy football. There is no point.
Everytime I bring in players who are doing well something happens that ****s it over. And the players I take out do well.

I sold Ronaldo which helped me improve my overall team by buying in Vidic and Lescott and replaced Ronaldo with Lampard.
Ronaldo scores and Vidic gets rested. Grrrrrrrrr

Though with Van der Saar being rested I got some good points with Schwarzer and the others around me didn't do well either having made Vidic their captain etc. I might endure the pain.

Arteta is probably a long-term injury so he has to go.

Still no bonus points for Man City/Liverpool?

Mr. Anderson, I think in the long term, youl'll probably do better without Ronaldo. He is not anywhere near top form.

    A little jem.

James Beattie. 5.6 and I now have 11 players playing next week, although their calibre is questionable.

"Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta has been ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing a cruciate ligament in his right knee against Newcastle yesterday."

    http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2009/0223/arteta.html

    Selling him now...

Jus checked there now - Boswingwa, Paintsil and Arteta all out for next week. Plus Ronaldo and Vidic aint playing this week either.

In trouble now. :( Already made one sub too

As it stands I have only 10 "fit" players but only have 2 defenders so only 9 of my squad are elibible as it stands :eek:

Might have to sell Boswingwa now and maybe bring him back later on. And get rid of Arteta next gameweek

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,727 ✭✭✭✭Sherifu

Think i'll bench Paintsil and leave Bosingwa in the team.

I've already made substitutions - a defender and Arteta.

It's a right mess this week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 742 ✭✭✭Loco

Will only be able to field 10 players this week unless i take a points hit. Wish i transfered Berbatov out last week.

Vidic/Ronaldo/Berb are not dependable anymore with the large points lead and CL fixtures.

Anyone considering Arshavin? He looked good in the highlights. Arsenal have to start scoring soon!

Whats the story with Belamy only getting an assist yesterday, surely he was credited with the goal !!

Bit too expensive plus he is listed as a striker which he aint. More of an attacking midfielder I reckon.

Bendtner and Van Persie were up front VS Sunderland.

He looked good in the highlights though - had two great attempts. If he was listed as a midfielder I would consider him but cos he aint - no thanks!!

I'm struggling to see what's worng with you here. Lampard got 9 points, Ronaldo only 6. Lescott brought home 9 points also, granted Vidic was a burn but Man U aren't playing this week so Ronnie for Lamps was fine. There was no burn here at all.

Lampard out for Arteta or the like would have been serious burn this week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,798 ✭✭✭Mr. Incognito

    1: Schwarzer

    2: Carragher
    3: Lescott
    4: Jagielka

    5: Ireland
    6: Davies
    7: Lampard(C)
    8: Ashbee

    9: Di Michele
    10: Cole
    11: Beattie

    subs
    12: Van der Sar
    Goalkeeper
    13: Bosingwa
    Defender
    14: Vidic
    Defender
    15: Ronaldo
    Midfielder

That's a pretty scobie looking starting line up for this week for me but at least I've 11 playing.

Can people post their teams for the week ahead- going to be some laugh this.:D

Because the Vidic incident has happened to me every single time I've transferred people in and out. For instance I brought in Anelka earlier in the season selling Berbatov because he couldn't buy a goal. Right after I did, Anelka was benched all the time. Frustrating.

Ended up on 53 and moved up a few places. :)

    Schwarzer is a hero.

Thought I was clear in the head to head, then Woodgate pops up to get a goal...and I lose by one point.

75 this week. Up to 60 in boards. My team for next week is a joke though. Ronaldo, O shea, VDS and Bosingwa all out.

Whats your team?Ouch man, that hurts,I would take the 12 point hit personally especially if one of those players is Arteta. His value is going to drop big time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 742 ✭✭✭Loco

    My team:

    Schwarzer
    L.Young A.Cole
    Lampard Ireland Dempsey Denilson
    RSC Bellamy Cole

    Subs:
    Turnbull

    Unavailable:
    Ronaldo Vidic Bosingwa Paintsil

I'm not sure its worth transfering out any of these, with long term plans in mind. It would be a free transfer(as long as they get 2 points as i can field only 10 players), but i wouldnt be able to afford any of them to get back in.

I'm thinking about Ronaldo / Vidic as they have Liverpool soon, and they may be rested frequently after for CL games.

    Perhaps:
    Ronaldo for A.Young
    or
    Vidic for Aurelio

Anyone else struggling to field 11?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Bosingwa's suspension has really fecked me over. Had he been playing I'd be able to just drop my United players to the bench.

Not sure a 4 point hit is worth it so thinking about going with 10 players -

    Schwarzer

    L.Young
    Figueroa
    Baines

    Nasri----A. Young
    Ireland----Davies

    C. Cole
    Robinho

    Young as skipper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

    Im not too bad...

    Reina

    L.Young
    Warnock
    Konchesky

    Lampard (c)----Andrews
    Ireland----Dempsey

    Agbonlahor
    Ameobi
    McCarthy

    Bench: (Turnbull) Ronaldo, Vidic, Bosingwa

Been thinking ahead and stocking up on Fulham/Blackburn players. Going to try and swap Turnbull for Schwarzer next week, so will have 6 playing the double gameweek

If you are going to make a transfer it has to be one of your defenders, you cannot put out a valid formation without at least 3 defenders. With that in mind I would ditch Paintsill if I were you. Vidic and Bosingwa are good long term bets and as you say you will lose money and not get them back (though Bosingwa is not actually scoring any better than most big 4 defender at the mo and most of them are cheaper.)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 742 ✭✭✭Loco

Paintsil has a double GW next, so I'll hold him for that.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,915 ✭✭✭✭menoscemo

would you not ditch him for another fulham or Blackburn defenders? kills two birds with one stone....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 742 ✭✭✭Loco

    Yes, good call!

Although i might yet do Bosingwa for Cliché!

Am sort of dicked this weekend.. Arteta out, Bowsingwa and Paintsil suspended and Vidic, Van der Sar and Berbatov not playing :|

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,727 ✭✭✭✭Sherifu

    Schwarzer

    --Bosingwa--Mendy--Warnock--Young L--

    ---Young A
    Ireland
    Lampard ---

    Jo (C)
    Davies
    Cole

    Subs; Turnbull, Paintsil, Giggs, Ronaldo

Looks like i'll be playing with 10. Brought in Warnock with an eye on Gameweek 28, sold Arteta as soon as he was out for the season. I think it's better to keep both Paintsil and Bosingwa than to sell them in the long run.

This is my line-up for the weekend...

    Cech

    ---Figueroa----Zayatte---Lescott---

    --Geovanni---Pedersen---Dempsey---Ireland--

    ----Bellamy
    Agbonlahor----Van Persie

    Subs: Schwarzer, Bosingwa, Evra, Ronaldo

I haven't decided on my captain yet but it will probably be between Agbonlahor and Van Persie.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,328 ✭✭✭Mezcita

    Me! Me! Me!

    Daisy Duke
    Hangeland Carragher Baines
    Lampard Taylor Ireland Cahill (C)
    Van Persie Cole Sibide

Normally have the Schwarzinator in goal but Fulham are so God damn awful away that I think Arsenal could hammer them. That said, Hull have not kept a clean sheet since October at home.

Tim Cahill as new Captain. Loves to score goals.

wenger is gonna drop rvp this weekend isn't he the bollocks. He has been my main man for most of the season, having him when others haven't have done me good. But with the league gone i feel he's gonna blood vela, bendtner, eduardo. Can't sub him this week because of the mess everyone is in. But i certainly won't be putting him as captain. That will be arteta's replacement.

living in oz these days and the premier league is a pain to keep up with. Have foxtel (sky digital in oz) in the apartment. Their coverage of the pl is second to none. Including at home. But staying awake while pissed at the weekend is killin me. Xavi6 how did ya go about it.

    Team this week:

    Cech
    Davies, Knight, Baines
    Barmby, Lampard, Geovanni, Dempsy
    Bellamy, Van Persie, Ameobi

    Subs: Schwarzer, Bosingwa, Vidic, Ronaldo

Its likely only 9 of my players will start as it seems Geovanni has fallen out of favourites with Phil Brown and Barmby very unlikely to start also.
Thinking of making Bellamy captain, think he might have a big game against his old club and is hitting form.
