On the 22nd of February I bought Arteta - plays for 6 mins => season ending injury:rolleyes:

On the 16th of February I bought Eduardo after his comeback cup game where he looked on fire - on the 19th it's announced that he had picked up a hamstring injury and is out for two weeks.

On the 27th of January I bought Defoe - On the 2nd of February he gets injured and faces surgery and a ten week lay-off

Other players I've had who had injuries/suspensions I've had recently include Torres, Owen, Guitterez, Delap, De Ridder, Olsson , A Cole.

I reckon Ronaldo will be rested this week anyway on Wednesday as he played 120 mins and they have Inter coming up.

Ireland is dropping to the bench this week for me- he has done nothing in 7 games so expect him to break out against Villa.

I actually sold him earlier this morning to make room for some other players. Didn't know he was injured. Decision seems inspired now.

A tidy 53points brings me up to 33rd in the Boards League... :D

Still have to wonder how many of the top 50 or so are actually genuine "Boardsies"...

Modric been brought in again this week for their double gameweek - Arteta Out!! Schwarzer might be promoted to captain this week... He deserves it

I can't say there's much grounds for optimism given it's his knee .....and also cos I bought him:(
    Bellamy faces assessment on knee

    Mark Hughes on Bellamy
Manchester City and Wales striker Craig Bellamy will see a specialist in London on Monday for an assessment of the knee injury he picked up against West Ham.

Bellamy, who went off after 66 minutes of the 1-0 defeat, looks doubtful for Wednesday's visit of Aston Villa.

"Craig had to come off, he tweaked his knee. We hope that he's going to be OK," said City manager Mark Hughes.

The injury will be a major worry for Wales, who want their skipper for World Cup games with Finland and Germany.

Finland come to the Millennium Stadium on 28 March, with Germany visiting Cardiff four days later.

Bellamy's career has been plagued by a series of knee problems.

Beattie looks a steal at £5.6m. Highest points average in the game at the moment. I'm losing patience with expensive strikers who don't score enough goals.

Good call cheers, might bring him in after the next game week. Think Gabby might get one against City. If not then he is gone

A Monster 65 and I'm up to 355th in the world :D and 6th in Boards.

    Schwartzer 10
    Lamps 10
    Jagielka 9

Beattie with an assist, Ashbee comes off the bench to score.:P

The only thing that mucked it was having Lescott and with Ronaldo, Vidic and Bosingwa benched nothing to come in.

I have a secret weapon captain this week!

The only problem I have is who to drop, C. Cole, Beattie or Ireland. Man C are home to Villa, Stoke home to in-form Bolton and West Ham away, so Ireland is the percentage call drop but I just can't. I think Cole may warm the bench this week.

Will Lescott start or are they going to wrap him in cotton wool until after the FA cup quarter final?

I am going to gues your secret eapon captain is Schwarzer.:D
Lescott should play as the 5 yellow cards thing i invalid now.Think he has to get 10 to get a one match suspension.

Really? How does that work? Why has it gone from 5 to ten?

Deadline isn't till half 7 tomorrow so you'll have three teamsheets before it closes. I'm excited about my team this week. And yes, well, it's not much of a secret captain is it :D

Yeah Schwarzer is my pick too. RVP is off form, Ronaldo *could* be rested, and I think Schwarzer will outscore Lamps over his two games. I fancy him to get at least 1 clean sheet and perhaps a bonus point. That would be about 9 points which I would gladly take for a captain.

I'm not exactly sure but I do know that any players on their 4th yellow card will not get suspended for their next yellow card.Howeer, if they accumulate 10 yellow cards. They will miss two games.

I'd play Gabby ahead of Ireland. I know Man City are home but Villa's away record is actually better than their home record this season and Man city are without -Elano, Robinho and Bellamy. Can't see Man City holding them or posing any attacking threat.

EDIT- Elano's in Richards may be out.

Not too sure who to pick this week tbh

    Schwarzer(C)

    Vidic---Alex---Paintstil---Skrtel

    Ronaldo---Lampard---Ireland---Davies---Modric

    Zaki

    Subs:Turnbull, Beattie, C.Cole, Zabaleta

    Confused :confused::confused::confused:

Should I play Ireland, or any one of the subs...

I'd drop Ireland and Zaki for Beattie and Cole.

Wigan are at home but doing nothing, Beattie is at home for stoke and on fire, cole is picking up bonus points and although he hasn't scored in four I'd fancy him this weekend.

After a disastrous gameweek, in which I somehow won my head to head, I'm hoping to pull some points back this week.

    Schwarzer(c)

    Davies
    Vidic
    Bosingwa
    Paintsil---

    ----Ronaldo
    Denilson
    Ireland
    Geovanni----

    Anelka
    Jones

Transferred Gabby for Keane! He must surely get at least a goal or an assist over the next two games:pac:

    Team is:

    Schwarzer (c)

    Koncheskey A Cole Carrigher Jagielka
    Ireland Nasri Ronaldo Lampard
    Keane Zamora

    Quietly confident

Just a heads up for anyone who hasn't made their transer yet:

Anelka will probably not play tonight:

Wigan could have beat Chelsea and were playing some great footy so thats why I side with Zaki.

Stoke well... they are Stoke!! Not a goal scoring free team... Beattie been doing very well sure but against a difficult Bolton team on form I reckon they will stuggle...

Anyone fancy Man City to keep a cleansheet :o

Sorry man, just saw it myself. I have himself and Bellamy and was gonna get in Jones for Bellamy.
I stuck to my original plan as I don't want to waste 4pts and Bellamy is definitely out for a longer period. There is a chance he'll play tonight anyway so I'm keeping him on the team.

Just a hint for anyone deciding over a transfers: The teams will be announced for tonights matches from about 7pm on BBC live text. the FPL deadline is 7.30pm for midweek matches, so if you are gonna be free around that time, it is best to wait around and make your switch last minute based on starting 11's. Unfortunately I will be out at this time tonight so I had to make my switches early.

I have 6 players playing the double gameweek

    Schwarzer(c)

    Warnock
    Vidic
    Bosingwa
    Konchesky---

    Andrews
    Ronaldo
    Lampard
    Dempsey

    Agbonlahor
    McCarthy

Expecting a decent turnout from this, 60-70 points hopefully

Yeah, no worries man, I was only ribbing ya. ;)

In a similar situation to yourself; was going to transfer out Anelka for Keane then logged in and saw Robinho was doubtful for tonight's game and Keane was no longer 8m so made the switch for Jones instead. Reckon it might be a better move in the long run anyway.

I may be a bit biased - but I favour Davies, he is a central player for Fulham and gets his fair share of assists from free kicks and corners.

But in saying that Murphy hit the post twice last week and looked dangerous. He is also their penalty taker. He also gets his fair share of bonus points.

I have Davies purely because be is cheaper tbh :D

The choice is yours.... :P You could also have a look at Dempsey - he can play up front and gets the odd goal.

Me too, having an expensive striker like Anelka is good as you can do a straight swap for someone like RVP or Berbatov if it suits a particular week (Berbatov will have a double coming up soon) and it is less money to upgrade to a Drogba or Torres.

Like yourself I think Jones is a good long term bet, not just for the double coming up. I wouldn't touch any Spurs player with a barge pole.

P.S. I am still in the cup. Anyone else?

At the moment the plan is to get the money out of the forwards and into the midfield, namely Lampard, so Anelka is probably going to go anyway. But my plans have been known to change.
