This weeks meeting took place in the mush livelier surroundings Lethean bar in Portlaoise.

We’ll be moving the meet up dates around going forward to suit as many people as possible.

It was decided at the previous meeting to try and get documentaries on stories from around Laois made and we could then aim for a festival showcasing the results later in the year.

    Couple of projects worth mentioning:

    - Natasha is looking into getting a piece done on Fossey Mountain Range and the characters that exist within.

    - We also talked about a few mini docs focusing on different asects of the World Fleadh being held in ... Portlaoise of all places. Could be a few good topical pieces coming out of that.

    - Brendan would be very interested in getting a piece made on the history of local pubs – dealing with them chronologically and seeing how they evolved along with the history of the county.

    - Michael Moylans ‘Weekend Warriors’ will focus on the characters who ‘Bring Irish History to Life’ through their battle recreations.

The Crewger site is now live. The blog is available for viewing by general public. This will act as a news site with content created by members reporting on the independent filmmaking scene in Ireland and further afield. The project management part of the site is open for Beta Testing.

The Mark production is tipping along nicely. John and his crew completed two days of shooting on the previous weekend.

Laois Music Awards: Alan Kehoe outlined plans for the visuals on awards night, for which he requires a multiple camera set-up and vision mixing equipment

The next meeting will be held in Lethean on Thursday 10th. All are welcome.
