4 into 2 wont go - M50 Southbound @ Ballymount

    Who was the brains behind having the new southbound 3 lane stretch of M50 merge into 2 lanes, at the very point where southbound traffic from Ballymount merges with the M50?!
    Four lanes into two wont go!
    Eejits.

    I went through there yesterday at about 17.40. Absolutely ridiculous. But in fairness who is actually surprised at this stage? :o

    I know its being widened beyond ballymount in phase 2, but surely when they were planning phase 1 someone would have said " shouldnt we take phase 1 beyond ballymount to avoid having four lanes merging into two?"
    Even if they had sketched it on the back of a napkin after they had finished their breakfasts rolls, this should have been obvious!
