Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    NWA Ireland 5th Anniversary Show

NWA Ireland is pleased to announce our ‘5th Anniversary Show’ which will take place on Friday August 8th at 7pm at Ballywaltrim Community Centre in Bray, Co. Wicklow.

The main event will be a Triple Threat Match for the NWA Ireland Title - the stipulation for this match is that there will no disqualifications and no countouts. Defending Champion Phil ‘The Thrill’ Boyd will not know until the evening of the event who his opponents will be, as there will be two qualifying matches earlier in the evening to determine his opponents in the Main Event.

The first qualifying match will feature the two participants from the Main Event of NWA Irelands 2nd Anniversary show where the first ever NWA Ireland Champion was crowned - two former NWA Ireland Champions will go head to head for a spot in the Triple Threat Main Event when Paddy ‘Suicide Machine’ Morrow takes on Adam Abz.

The other semi final will feature another former NWA Ireland Champion and current NLW Champion Sean ‘Maxer’ Brennan. Brennan will go head to head with former NWA-UK and NWA British Commonwealth Champion Paul Tracey for a spot in the Triple Threat Main Event. Brennan’s NLW Title will not be up for grabs in this one.

There is however another twist in the story, as the NWA Ireland Tag Team Champions Aguila Artois and Sir Michael W Winchester will also defend their titles at the event. They too will not find out who their opponents are until the night in question, as the two participants who fail to qualify for the Triple Threat Match will then team together and attempt to capture the NWA Ireland Tag Team Titles away from the Regency Society.

Another match on the show we can announce is the collision of ‘Team Mega’. The former multi-time NWA Ireland Tag Team Champions who violently disbanded their team this past April at NLW’s Live Event in Naas, Co Kildare will go head to head for the first time and there is no love lost between the newly named ‘Gunbarrell Farrell’ and Danny ‘More Man Than Most’ Butler.

Joey Cabray will also be in action, and will as always be accompanied by his manager Rachel St Claire when he steps into action to take on ‘Simply Sensational’ Sean South.

The final contest of the evening will feature ‘The GlamRock Superstar’ Kev Rocks who has issued an open challenge to anyone at NWA Ireland or FFPW to accept his ‘GlamRock Challenge’ at the event. The ‘GRS’ will reveal more details of his ‘challenge’ in upcoming weeks.

Also on the event, there will be a special video message from NWA Ireland Star ‘The Inve$tment’ Ross Browne. Ross cannot make this event for personal reasons, but will return to competition at NWA Ireland this coming October. The ever controversial ‘Inve$tment’ does however have a special message for all of our NWA Ireland Fans on the night of our ‘5th Anniversary Show’.

The action will kick off at 7pm at Ballywaltrim Community Centre on Friday 8th of August with doors opening at 6.45pm. Right of admission is reserved and children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is just €10 at the door, and the card for the evening is subject to change.

This event will mark the end of one era and the beginning of a new one for the NWA in Ireland as it will the last event run by Fergal Devitt and Paul Tracey. The duo who led NWA Ireland since its inception will still sanction shows in Ireland under the banner of the National Wrestling Alliance, but will no longer be involved in promoting live events, or in the day to day running of a wrestling organisation. Devitt and Tracey made the decision to wind down their responsibilities with a view to finishing up well over a year ago for both personal and professional reasons. They wish to thank everyone for their support over the past 5 years of NWA Ireland. They have both said they will always hold NWA Ireland close to them, and regard their time as promoters as a fantastic part of their wrestling careers. They regard the style of teaching wrestling that they developed here in Ireland as one of the best, if not the best in Europe, and look forward to watching some of the talent they produced at the former NWA Ireland Training Facility grow and develop further in the pro wrestling industry . The duo look forward to watching the organisation grow and develop under its new structure and leadership - and look forward to seeing all our fans at upcoming NWA events in Ireland.

I'm very tempted to go to this, if I can figure out where the venue is!

The venue is actually quite easy yo get to if you get a 45 bus from Eden Quay and stay on til the last stop it drops yo across the road from it!

Or would you be comin straight from Kildare?

Lousy timing for me as i'm flying to Italy that morning, shame because that's actually a solid card worth checking out. It's also good that they still have their guys from 2003-2004 still on the card, which says a lot for their loyalty to the promotion. :)

Just curious Kev, any word on who's taking over from Devitt & Tracey? Or is that kept quiet for now?

    VR!

Kev I'd most probably be driving up from Kildare so the transport isn't really an issue, just directions!

VR! - I'm not sure weather the the management side of things will be made public or kept private!

    Flan - Heres directions mate

-Take N7 onto M50 Southbound, continue onto the M11 and then onto the N11. Take the third turn off after the Bray north exit (if you get to Kilmac you've gone too far). Keep heading for Bray and turn Right when you see a church, now you're on the Boghall, the venue is just past the church - across the road from a grop of shops and a chipper!

    Hope that helps!
