I can't see who mods what any more, instead there's a list of how many times people have said thanks. Surely a bicycle wheel replaced with a thimble?

Possibly intentional in order for mods to be viewed more as "common or garden posters" in forums other than the ones they moderate. Not a bad idea IMO.

If unintentional - then maybe something for the Powahs to consider.

looks like Cult is playing around with settings at the minute. Normal service will resume shortly

I think the four silver stars and names in bold would give it away.

Not to mention their majestic personalities of course.

Cult can you please step away from your keyboard

    Majestic? ...pffff

I was recently appointed "God Mod", don't you know ! Majestic ...pah ..that's for mere mortals.

Still, @cult ...I'd be happy to have the "motors" bit back, as I know the "God Mod" is out of the question :D:D

Guh! Stop telling everyone else what to do. I expect better from a moderator!

I like it. No more "omg I can't believe a mod just said that"(usually about Princess Innocent Knickers but still) and stuff.

I liked this idea from the start.

Downside it finding a forum you may not think of due to seeing it under a username for eg.

I know I've gone to new fora that way.

Now, when do my thanks regenerate...

It will just lead to more confusion for newbs about the site imo.

"When is a Moderator not a Moderator" type thing. Clearly displaying the Forums we Mod is enough to show where we are NOT Moderators.

This way shows nothing at all tbh.

I agree. Hopefully it'll be back to normal soon enough

I prefer it this way tbh :)

Well you'd think that but how many times on fb has some noob gone on about a mod in a forum that they are just a normal user in?

Most of them will just see Mod;x and jump to conclusions.

I said it in the other thread but maybe not having them displayed in feedback would help given just the Admins mod it.

Either way wont affect my boards experience. If all I could see was a username I'd be well happy :)

I used to find new forums all the time because I'd spot it under the mod's name though. It was handy like that!

Yeah totally... it's fine for subscriber mods who've changed their taglines, but "Moderator" muddies the water again.

some of us don't like the bold name or the silver stars, I prefer the subscriber look, there are a few mods who have stuck to this look.

    I don't like it.

The 'thanks' thing looks like clutter, and I don't really care how many times a person has been thanked. That only matters on the posts themselves imo.

This post recieved X thanks. <<--- nice and useful.

This poster recieved X thanks. <<--- when? for what? by who? not so useful.

I also liked seeing who moderates what. For various reasons.

    We fear change.

I think mod tags, thanks buttons, signatures, avatars, usernames and post content should all be replaced by "Yay Cult!" and "Boo Cult!" buttons.
Pressing one gives Cult a fizzy cola bottle every time its clicked, and the other gives him a shock.
    Code it up Cult, godspeed!

Could lead to just as much confusion, or more, when the mod of forum X comes to feedback - or even the mod forum - to talk about something regarding forum X but everyone sees just a 'normal user'.

On another forum I use it doesn't list which forums a moderator moderates, works perfectly surprisingly and have yet to hear anyone bitching about the mods there..

That's just because they're so suspicious of everyone else. It could even be a mod bitching about himself to see who agrees with him :)
