Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I installed Ubuntu a while ago onto and old laptop.

I can pick up my network and attempt to connect but the connection seems to time out after 5 mins and just goes back to being unconnected.

    Any ideas for a solution?

Could be loads of things to be honest:

dodgy driver (doubt that would make it into the kernel)
interference causing connection to drop (another wifi network using same channel, cordless phones, wireless alarms, wireless video senders, microwaves and more)

Try changing the channel your router is using for wifi, say from 1 to 11 or 13, and see if there's any difference.

thanks for the reply ethernet, I've used the laptop before with XP, and currently have 2 other laptops connected to it.

I'll try the channel change and see if it works.

What version of Ubuntu have you installed? What kernel version? What network card have you? What router are you using?
