    One of the better, more authentic people in the politics game. Didn't know he was so sick, and his son was two years ahead of me in school. Sad loss for Irish politics and a good man gone as well.

    Minister Brennan was one of the most honest and honourable men in Fianna Fail and even in the greater political sphere ... Seamus will be a loss for the party but an even greater loss for Ireland. My condolences to his family and comrades

    RIP.

    I remember him being decent enough years ago to attend a school prize-giving in Churchtown. He was always extremely professional and courteous.

    He will be missed.
