i got iorn maidens live after death dvd, but there is a bit in it where things go a bit quite (during rime of the ancient mariner), where there is just a base and guitar thing.
well anyone notice that its pretty much the same piece that metallica play towards the end of the song misery. or if anyone has the cunning stunts dvd they play it in that also! just noticed it, thought id share. maybe they did it on purpose

    can't see it myself!

on a related note: if you can force yourself to buy the rag that is kerrang next week there's a maiden tribute cd with it in which metallica amongst others rip off maiden. they done something similar last year with metallicas master of puppets album, this is various bands take on maiden songs.

here's a link that has a couple of audio samples:

It's hardly ripping them off if it's a covers album now is it?

That Metallica one was awful from what I remember of it. This one sounds slightly better but still not that good. Trivium covering Iron Maiden (the song)? It's terrible!

Should have had the Anthrax cover of Remember Tomorrow on it rather than the Metallica one.

Although when Metallica play RT live it is awesome.

Nope I mean the Anthrax version that is the b side of the Nothing single from 1996. Classy cover with John Bush in cracking form.
