Accuracy of line checkers // Dsl Filters

Hey A couple of quick questions. To what degree of accuracy have line checkers such as IBB for example. Say i enter a number and i get a pass result and i get an option of up to 4megs for example, can that line handle that 4meg? how are these stats obtained from there end with regard to the quality of the line, SNR/Att?…

A couple of quick questions.
To what degree of accuracy have line checkers such as IBB for example.
Say i enter a number and i get a pass result and i get an option of up to 4megs for example, can that line handle that 4meg? how are these stats obtained from there end with regard to the quality of the line, SNR/Att?

Also, Dsl filters, are the Excelsus filter supplied by eircom of good quality?
Have people replaced these with ones they have sourcesed themselves and to what affect? better/worse stats.
