    May I be cheeky for a moment and ask whether or not there are drama groups that facilitate beginners / amateurs in the art as a hobby? (or something to get into )

    I've always felt that an interest in the arts would be highly beneficial in terms of mental development and confidence but have no idea how one would join such a group.

    Any tips / links would be highly appreciated,

    There's a boards drama group, see the sub forum on it - it's just in the start up phase so time to get in at the start.

    Otherwise contact the dli (www.dli.ie) for information on local groups and also on night classes they run which can give you a good grounding.
