Much better alright, bit more expensive but a hell of a lot better fun!

I'm sure a 1.6 Mazda is more than enough unless you plan on killing yourself.

I've done a few in the UK. Full day on a airfield for £100. Unlimited laps. Makes Mondello look like awful value tbh.

It's driving your own car mind you.

Silverstone do a track day. Costs about 900 but it is well worth the money. Starts at 8 in the morning and ends at 6, all that time driving cars from a Ferrari to a Porche. Have a look into it. Probably one of the best days of my life.

i did the beginners clubman course in mondello.

1.6 nippy enough when you do 70mph and then told to jump on the brakes for a hairpin. great fun.

then there is single seaters. they are really quick. problem is you have instructor with you in the mazda but no instructor in the single seater. i was a fairly competant driver but i felt i did not get a good shot at the single seaters as at ever turn i cam to the was another fool in the gravel after spinning the car out.

that really pissed me off but it was a great day though

The courses in mondello uses a 1.6 mazda at the start but include so many laps in a single seater race car as well. have friends that have done some of the courses and it seems good.

I have a voucher to go on the course and just need to book it soon, cant wait.

I have been on the beginner course at mondello. At the time the cars were rover 25s. and the single seater of course. I was just going to book for the advanced course as I thought they now had a fleet of mazda 3 mps models. Drove the mps model around mondello during mazda zoom zoom day and it was very good. But the 1.6 would be dull so I might look at something in england instead

I did the intermediate course in Mondello last year, they had Rover 25's then. It was good crack, but felt waaay to short for what it costs. Spent a lot of time doing the safety briefing, etc... the time in the actual cars seemed to be over all too quickly!
