Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Lads,

Can we stop dealing with reality when it comes to Shamrock Rovers and the seven figure debt that they never paid?

Please stick to the official Rovers propaganda that the club was saved by its fans and not by its creditors and a judge.

Shels couldn't go down the perfectly legal route of examinership because they knew full well that no-one would bail them out as their fanbase is so weak and the holes in the accounts would scare off corporate investment, especially with the laundry services you had been offering.

Shels made the choice to swallow the debt whole as they couldn't risk the public scrutiuny of examinership, so you can whistle for it compaining that we handled our problems better. Like it or not, you are at your pre Olly level of Dublins 4th biggest club. In fact, scratch that, UCD have passed you and left you in fifth. The fact that you are still giving out that Rovers did it better 4 years ago sums up your place in the scheme of things.

Dundalk are just a small provincial club who had a few good years and have found their level.

When did we ever say otherwise?

Rovers advise was that examinsership was the most viable option. The fans buyout was considered the most viable option by the examining Judge.

That Shels kept their books a secret and swallowed the debt whole was considered the most viable option by them.

    Dry your eys.

Look at Rovers attendences in the last few games (minus Dublin derbies) and look at ours'. Hardly much difference in them, so your loyal support is where?

I'm sure Shamrock Rovers have 5k+ at every game, and have a sound financial footing.

Sound financial footing yes, 1k+ at every game no.

Even so, getting debt wiped is great

You can laugh away at the Champions pennant that flies over United Park.
