I started in October with the Fractal case and ended with mouse today. Piecing it together is not the best and cheapest way to build a PC but, I'm happy with what I ended up with.

Delish setup man. The cooler and case on the GPU go really well together.

Love that GPU, the metal cooler on it looks bad ass.

Next thing is a modular PSU as I want to individually sleeve the cables for the 24 pin & the GPU's, and then 3 new U2412 monitors, funds permitting:)

The two Gpu power cables, can they not fit in behind the back panel? Its an otherwise awesome looking rig :)..

Ya I have seen it done outside on a few builds but think it looks alot better behind the back panel. But agree, great build!

Thanks lads, I'm deighted with it. Nope PCI the cables are not long enough to go behind the MB tray. Rather than extending them I'd like to go with a new modular PSU, strip out what I don't need and sleve whats left with MDPC sleeve or similar. This build will never be bloody finished, but then thats the fun of it:)

Finally got the connection to set up my watercooling on the 8150.
I have it running cool and quiet at 5ghz with all cores enabled. I will try for higher soon.
I think it looks much better now with the crosshair board than it did with the sabertooth in it. First pic is of when sandybridge was in it.

are you gonna watercool that GPU?

I have two rads not in use in the case (in the case in them pics is 2 360mm rads in the bottom that are 60mm thick, one is in use and as you can see above is the 480mm rad 60mm thick not in use) ready too watercool a motherboard and two/three gpu's.
With kepler coming soon i'm holding off to decide which two, to get.
Just have to make sure which ever can run eyefinity on BF3 max settings on 5760*1200 while having another 1920*1200 monitor for other stuff so would be a min of two 7950's.
Heres hoping nvidias cards are much faster.
If I go amd, I will put two watercooled 7950's in it and watercool the above card for physics, otherwise will just put two nvidia cards in it watercooled. I havent used nvidia cards in my main rigs in a while so hoping to give them a go this time round.

noob question deceit but how come there are 3 fans at the bottom of your case? Are they exclusively for the PSU?
I take it watercooling is for the processor only?

    it looks brilliant

those fans are connected and blow air onto a radiator for the water cooling.

Yea Tea_bag is right, I have 3 on either side of the case, one set for pushing air through the two radiators, the other set pulls the air out the other side.
For the moment its processor only, soon to be alot more. I'm just waiting on the motherboard block to come in stock and then just have to decide on gpu blocks.

Will look much better when you have your two 7970's watercooled are in proper without the mile of tubing/cables ;).

that psu is modular man, strip out those nasty wires!

Edit: the exit tube for the bottom GPU looks dangerously kinked.

and why do you have two seperate loops?

I'm forever trying to get him to sort them cables and noticed that kink myself.
He only has one loop, its just the way he set it up.
He should have went directly into the gpu from the cpu rather than going back to the same pump/res as the gpu's.

Dont care tbh. Deceit is more into looks.
It looks like that in the photo but its ok. Will get a proper connector next time I drain.
All on same loop, RX360 with 3 stock and 3 gentle typhoons 1850s push pull.

BTW this is my first watercooling. Not perfect, probably does not look great, but I only even made an effort because Deceit keeps asking for pictures!!!!

what temps are you getting? is that still the 1090T?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,180 ✭✭✭Serephucus

How the hell do you have that much tubing in a single loop?! What's your loop layout?

It's not just for looks; removing the bunch of cables will help with airflow in your case. The same can be said for the tubing, as well as increasing flow rates in your pump.

I always knew that meccano would come in handy!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,180 ✭✭✭Serephucus

I was just about to ask if that was Meccano!

Looks very nice I've got to say. Your rig has convinced me to try mounting the pump in the 5.25 bays and see if that's easier to work with.

    What are your temps like?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,983 ✭✭✭Tea_Bag

MOAR! Please God show me more. that is exactly what I want to do with mine. how many brackets are holding it on? does it flex the side panel? are the fans cables long enough to get routed around the back? does the tubing fit through the grommets? what was the total cost? temps?

Since I have a similar setup:

None (planning on four, can be up to twelve)
Not if you have a decent case. Tested with mine and it doesn't
With extensions, yes, otherwise you'll need another hole in the case.
No. I had to remove the grommets themselves, then the tubing fit fine.
For everything, including the GPU block, in and around the €400 mark.
    CPU and GPU, idle / load - 34 / 62 | 26 / 54
