my new Asrock z77 extreme 4 mobo recommends RAM in slot 1 + 3 anyway

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭sosmyface

    You're right White_Wolf.
When i was installing the RAM I initially thought I was to match it to the colours but whatever way I was reading the manual I had them the wrong way.

    Channel A DIMM_A1 and DIMM_A2
    Channel B DIMM_B1 and DIMM_B2

I put it in A1 and A2 thinking it was the same channel.

But it recommends to use DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2 (blue slots) for Two Dimms.

I checked the bios after and everything looks good. Tiny bit of dust on the bottom of the case when i opened it but not on the board etc.

    Cheers

@dwighet, probably empty. I dont know where all my manly cups were when i took that photo:(

Is it just me or is that monitor a bit bent? Looks like it's leaning over to the right.

Ever so slightly, now that you mention it :D

Looks monstrous. The motherboard is so small in comparison!

It's big alright, barely fits on my desk and it weighs a tonne.

The Storm Stryker is even huger. Lovely case, but I'd still probably take a 600T over it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 22,929 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

well thats a HUGE E-penis you got there bud! love that case! :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,983 ✭✭✭Tea_Bag

I'm ordering the stryker on Monday :D

it was that or the white 600T I was changing to, but I settled on the stryker cause its that little bit better to water cool and I could use a change from my black 600T.

can I ask a question that I'm not getting a clear answer on in the overclockers club, if you remove the toolbox, is there anything limiting the thickness of a 240mm rad you can fit on the floor?

Depends on the height, you'd have to get a slim one.

I'm not sure whether to just go ahead and buy the black one or wait for the white one. I like the white one more but I don't know how long more it will be.

Damn!! I didn't know the stryker was already available to buy, I thought it would be a few months seeing as it was only announced 19th June. I'll be ordering that soon so :)

So I got my hands on some 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fibre film the other day. Decided to take the trim off my case and cover it, subtle mod but looks wicked I think! :)

I've never been much for that case, and I'm probably only a little more than so-so on carbon fibre, but that's one hell of a job. Very nicely done indeed.

Thanks guys, delighted with the outcome :)

Have some left over so thinking some highlights inside the case. Want to get some sleeved cables and lighting in there first tho to see how it looks.
