Update, added some corsair SP120 fans and another to the watercooler radiator. Did some cable management. Case is too small, and thinking of changing to a red and black theme with a ROG Extreme motherboard.....full watercooling ?

I nearly bought that case. The build looks good.:)

Heres some usual updates on my machines :)
My main rig is now a:
    3820
    32gb ram
    rampage 4 extreme
    2 * HD7970's
    20130407_134238_zps6befbf9b.jpg

As I had the 3570K spare then I put it and the maximus 4 extreme into my second build while keeping it at 4.5ghz :) (stays under 70degs with prime)
    20130407_134421_zps5c0b1afa.jpg

I quickly put the i7 950, sabertooth, 24gb ram together in a switch 810 case and sold it today :). I didnt have a spare extension cable for the 8 pin so had to go at the front.
    20130407_134314_zpse679f229.jpg

My Server I have moved into the 690 II adv case and bought a raid card for it. I'm just waiting on the raid card cables until can complete it.
    Its still: i7 970, 48gb ram, p6x58d-e, 10 500gb hd's
    20130410_024050_zps6e06159f.jpg

I bought a 2600k and a p8p67-m pro board and sold my 8150 cpu. I will use the 2600k most likely in my work in progress prodigy build when I start to work more on it and will pick up an fx8350 when I have the time :)
    20130407_134319_zpsbb38f9f7.jpg

The code is on post so no worries about34 :)

    20130407_134305_zps57c3ab88.jpg

After viewing viperirl's build I'm tempted by the screens but cant justify them until can get playable frame rates on them massive screens.

    Triple titans maybe :)

    Why so many rigs?

  • Registered Users Posts: 36,167 ✭✭✭✭ED E

Not to pry but what do you do deceit that means youve collected so many rigs?

Also, LAN at your place??? :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 316 ✭✭viperirl

some lovely builds there deceit. Looks great.

As for the Asus IV mobo in your first pic, would the two graphics cards be an obstacle if you ever wanted to watercool that x79 chipset?
I'm asking as my titans are of similar length and if I decide to go for that same motherboard I dont want to be caught if there are problems with access to that chipset.
In terms of sli/crossfire configuration, are there restrictions as to what PCI slots you can use?

I was looking into triple cards but decided not to as it essentially only adds extra hot air to the rig and nothing else and in some cases its slower than two cards :(

My job title is It Security specialist so I have to test a lot of software so having lots of powerful varied computers helps.
I also just had a lan night with mates there for the weekend :)

No they would not get in the way at all as the waterblock fits perfectly under the graphics cards. If you ever watercool I could help you fit the waterblocks etc if your near dublin.
If your afraird of issues you could always use quick disconnect lines that would allow you to take different sections out of the loop to work on them.
The two slots I have the cards in are the 16x lanes and the one in the middle and the other below the bottom one are 8x but they are all pci-e 3 if I remember correctly and if so you wont notice any difference in slots at the moment.

Lookin very sweet, that case is an absolute monster though, dunno where I'd put it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

    Love that cosmos case.

I'm a little big sick that I didn't spalsh out a bit extra for one of these or these for my build but I was on a tight budget and couldn't go above €100 for a case.

Now I sit looking at my Thermaltake Chaser MK-1 thinking you ugly bastard. I'm going to have to sell you. It's a great case but I have the itch to replace it.

Have to say it was a bit of a shock to see it out of the box even after knowing the specs and seeing the review videos.

I will say one thing it was damn awkward to get the radiator and another fan on top as well as the mother board I had because of two little metal brackets but managed to flatten them out and get it to fit nicely.

Endless chipping away at my build and finally I'm relatively happy with it. Also, tidied up my desk, in light of recent hurtful comments about my setup....pictures of that later. :p

I just taught I would post my rig with its replacement psu and cables. I bought these from tinytomlogan as they where only one set made for him by bitfenix:). I picked up an ax1200 watt psu over the weekend and I will use my 1500watt psu for testing now (I might try braid the cables on it myself :) )

Looks great, the white sleeving suits it well. Nice xfire bridge too by the way, way nicer than the bog standard brown/gold one. I got sleeving from MDPC last year, great to work with & looks the part. Just a word of warning, I have an AX850 and found the connectors a bitch to de-pin, so get a few spares if you are going down that route.

Yea it took me ages to source the xfire bridge then just as I was about to order it I realised there was one in my rampage iv box :P.
I will be doing the cables on the silverstone 1500 watt psu, hopefully will be easier and I have two sets of cables so will have plenty to test with :)
