    Man, that looks the business!

Talk us through your hardware. CPU/GPU? OC and voltage? Temps? Quiet edition fans? Is that an EK D5 Xres? The clean CSQ blocks look great!

Did you make the power cables/extensions yourself? I'm in the process of trying to confirm the pinout of my PSU to remake all the cables, it's a big job!

    Excellent work!

    Cheers

Cpu and mobo are actually getting on a bit now have had them for about two years but they still pack a decent punch, will probably upgrade to x99 in a year or so if it starts struggling.

all at stock clocks for now

    CPU: i7 3820
    MB: Rampage IV Formula
    Ram: 16GB Gskill Ripjawz 2133
    GFX: EVGA GTX780 SC ACX

System drive is an Intel 330 180gb and then have a 120gb corsair and a 750gb Samsung evo840 for games with a 3tb HDD for tv/movies

and yes i done all the cables myself with Teleios sleeve nearly all of it using the heatshrinkless method, this was actually my first time sleeveing and i'm fairly happy with the outcome.

for pin outs i generally just copied the modular cables or found references online, and yes its a feckin massive job :P and gets surprisingly expensive.

all the radiator fans are corsair sp120 quiet editions with the fan speed reducer, the exhaust fan is an af120 allegedly "Quiet Edition" which i've unplugged due to noise and vibration even with the speed reducer, the sp's have been perfect though

Really nice build Grim, always enjoy seeing high end water cooled rigs :)

Yea the cables turned out great!

I'm looking at MDPC sleeving myself. Will be going heatshrinkless also, looks a million times better imo. It surely is adding up quick, I'm looking at about €100 for everything, sleeving, heatshrink, terminals and pins, tools etc. Where did you buy the wire? Found some on Ebay coming from China fairly cheap.

I have the pinout for my PSU from Overclock.net but I don't want to touch the stock cables at all in case I ever need to RMA it but as they're several crossed wires, and a few double wires also, I'm having to go through them one by one testing resistance with a multimeter to find which end corresponds with which and then try and match that up to the pinout diagram I have from OCN.

Can't wait to get cracking on it though!

Are the SP120's PWM? (edit: just read you are using the low noise adapters, probably not PWM so!) Was looking at them before however a lot of reports of them loosing their PWM function and just running 100% when you try PWM control more than 3 or 4 of them. Looking at Akasa Apache Super Silent Blacks, getting good reviews and look great on paper. Just have to find out if I can easily open them and take the blades off to rewire/paint them.

Will be making up new cables for them and a PWM D5 also and running them all through this 10 way PWM splitter PCB I managed to pick up the other day to keep it all nice and tidy.

I have the MDPC ATX & Molex pin removers, welcome to borrow them if you like. Been gathering dust for the last year or so anyway.

Busy day yesterday on tidying up the PC. Fitted the custom shroud properly, painted the drive holders, 5.25" clips and PCI slot screws :) Really freshen up the interior I think and should go well with the red braided cabling that im waiting on.

Man I love that case! Have a plan to cut out most of the front panel and replace it with an acrylic panel, just have to get around to buying the case.

Gave the case a little dusting and got the finger prints off the acrylic. Apologies for my head being in the reflection..

They look blue-ish in the pictures but are completely white, well happy with the results.

Finally got the replacement cooler & case, finished (for now:)) apart from making new cables. That will be an xmas job, must get the crimping tool first. Was thinking of red, light grey & black MDPC or similar sleeving.

Like this case a lot, but tricky enough to build in as it is quite small.

I've two death adders and the Naga (Need to support Razer as they support us ;) ). The Naga feels really comfortable to hold also, probably more so than the death adder but I still love using the death adder. I've left my Naga and spare Death adder boxed though :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,387 ✭✭✭glynf

I have two deathadders, one in the box also, just in case :) Would be great if they upgraded the left hand version to 2013/chroma spec. Thought about taking the sensor/pcb/wheel and transferring them to a left handed-from what I can see there is little or no difference in the shape & size of the mouse chassis.

Those samsung panels are lovely, VESA is great when you can drill the walls but when you cant thats what you want.

My work in progress server. It has 2 6 core xeon's and 144gb ram. Just need to find two cheap coolers that can screw into the cpu backplates until I watercool it.
I'm building it to replace my single 6 core 48gb server as I'm running out of ram and running out of disk space. I will build a couple of raid 5 arrays with 2-4tb drives.
