Expanding family has me window shopping for something a bit more accomodating, and if I'm changing I may as well go for something a bit more frugal than my 320Ci.

    This caught my eye: http://www.carzone.ie/used-cars/Audi/A6/AVANT-1.9TDI/1106836/

I had a quick look at it yesterday and it looks tidy enough although it is just a car, certainly didn't set my heart racing (130bhp vs. my current 170 too). Mileage is a bit high and there's no record of a timing belt having been done yet. Is the belt on these the usual Audi €1k plus nightmare? It's a UK import and the Sat Nav disc has gone missing so is the Sat Nav just a gimmick that'll cost €€ to get any use out of? I'm also reluctant to pay a premium to a garage for importing a car when I could do it myself and pocket the extra money. The only thing is, with the market the way it is there is something to be said for being able to trade in my car instead of having tyre kickers and test pilots calling to the house for weeks or months.

    Any thoughts/opinions/insights?

    Thanks.

Way overpriced for the year & milage! I sold a new shape A6 earlier in the year for that kind of money with the better 2.0 diesel engine

Not sure what you budget is, but have you considered the new legacy diesel estate??

If you look at these 2 A6' that can be bought in in england http://www.cargiant.ie/Audi/A6/Estate/results.asp the most expensive one will srt you back 18,400 incl VRT and that's without even getting the dealer to drop a cent off it.

That saves you nearly 5 grand on the carzone option surely that will entice you to try and sell your bmw privately.

Best of luck either and would love an A6
