Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Osbourne sold and I would be surprised if any Prem team takes him.

Thats possible. I'm just saying that I hope he fulfils whatever potential he has. He may still have a future at the club

Albrighton had a good game again. He deserves a starting place in the semi final.

Lichaj looked a bit suspect at times again tonight. He shows some potential but isn't there yet

Reo played well and showed some good touches on the ball but unfortunately then tried to pass it :D

Overall it was a decent performance and hopefully the next game will be good

Porto will be a good run out. Definitely the kind of game they need. With fiorentina on Saturday (with Real Madrid or Juventus a bonus). While we cant pay too much heed to it, it will be a worthwhile exercise

I agree. With Downing \ Young on the Left and Milner \ Albrighton (and if needed Young) on the right it's one of the few positions we're actually fine for.

Can any new signing come into the peace cup squad or do we have to play with the squad we signed up with?

    It's on Friday, half 9 I think.

We should give them a good game and if we beat them we'll be in a very prestigious final vs Juve or Real Madrid. Exciting!

Bollox, I just realized that I'm supposed to be going to Waterford with my GF on Friday. I wonder if I can convince her to go down on Saturday. Unless someone knows a pub in Waterford city or Tramore that would be showing the match?

Do Murrays show an internet stream on the tv?
No pub in Waterford would do that.

Or do they get all the foreign channels?
No pub in waterford has them.

The other game tonight was 0 - 0 so we'll be playing Porto

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,661 ✭✭✭✭Helix

thatll be a decent test. theyre no great shakes but theyll cause us problems, good chance for the lads to show what theyre up to against decent european teams

play like we did in the first half hour today we'll be murdered, play like we did in the last hour, we'll be comfortable

a start for albrighton is almost a given, with nrc and sidwell in the middle (both looked to be a decent partnership... must be all that reserve team football :P )

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,918 ✭✭✭✭orourkeda

It'll be a good run out. Better than the usual pre season fare

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,661 ✭✭✭✭Helix

yeah definitely, a sterner test is what we want

the fiorientina match next week should be a decent run out too

    My First 11 as it stands, I think I would like 3 5 2.

Ashley Young is pretty much out only creative force in midfield, and you'd deploy him spending at least 50% of his time defending, or trying to? Epic no.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,074 ✭✭✭rgiller

Keane, Upson and Distin all rumoured today. From F365:

The Daily Mail reports this morning that Aston Villa are keeping an eye on Robbie Keane's situation at Tottenham, after 'Arry splashed out on Peter Crouch. If you will.

With Crouch in and Klaas Jan Huntelaar also a possible, Keane could find himself down the pecking order, and ripe for a move away from the Lane.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mirror also claims Matt Upson and Sylvain Distin might move to Villa Park next season.

Not too sure about Keane, but the others...

Not what I am saying at all. If you read my posts properly you would realise that.
