Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone have info on whether this bill was made law yet?

Hi all, I'm trying to find out whether a draft bill on landlord and tenant law, which was released accompanying an LRC report on the subject last year, has been made law or is still a bill. The bill dealt mainly with the following areas:

    (1) Formalities for creation of landlord-tenant relationship
    (2) The position of successors in title to the landlord and tenant
    (3) Fixtures

If it has been passed, it means several pre-1922 statutes will have been repealed.

Does anyone have any info on whether it was made law yet? I hope I gave enough of a description of the bill for you to recognise which one I mean.

    Thanks,
    dee8839

Does this Bill relate to the LRC Report and Land Law and Conveyancing? If so I don't think that Bill has been promulgated yet. As far as I'm concerned the following are the only Acts re land that have been promulgated over the last few years; http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/2005/en/act/pub/0024/index.html and http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/2005/en/act/pub/0007/index.html

Yes its based on the LRC report. Thanks for the replies, I couldn't find anything to say that any bill relating to this area had been passed since the 2005 act, but wanted to double check and who better to ask for help than the learned legal discussion boarders!:)

The last I heard about that Bill was it was making its way through the Oireachtas nicely just before the general election last year. Doesn't look like it made it.

You might try checking with the Department of Justice & Law Reform as they should know for sure.

BTW someone gave an URL for the Irish Statute Book. Please correct me if I am wrong but I don't think that they post brand new legislation there until some time after it has been enacted in which case that might not be an authorative source for an answer to this type of question.

Ah, I didn't know that - that's something to watch out for. I think I came across a section on statutebook.ie or irlgov.ie that gave a list of the most up to date legislation.
