I think the OP has, quite uniquely, managed to disprove the point in his OP by making said post in the first place. It has been shown that lolcats need not infest every thread but general drag down the low-class threads to where they belong. Its not perfect but at the same time, most of the time they DO convey a piece of feedback ie: "I think you are being extremely something and this lolcat is to mock you for that reason." Sometimes they arent even negative...

I was looking forward to some good catz in my thread here last week, but alas no.

  • Business & Finance Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 32,387 Mod ✭✭✭✭DeVore

Ok, so before this goes off topic completely (even though, curiously, lolcats ARE the topic) just wanted to be sure the OP is happy with the answer or at least feels he has been answered.

    I did a quick search actually ;)
There were no sunburnt cats. Which tbh was a good thing.

Yeah, whatever about kids... now poor kittys getting burnt would have sent me right over the edge.

Same reason as hoomans. They can hide their sneaky fookernuss with loveable characteristics.

There is a lolcat for every occasion, and I fully endorse their use. Livens a thread up imo :)

I think one should be plenty though ,if a poster chooses the wrong one then they can be booed. Posting lolcat after lolcat is a bit silly though.

They get boring when there are so many on the screen.

As in everything on boards ,the overuse of lolcats or anything is not recomended .

TBH, if you have nothing constructive to say then say nothing. Feedback is a System function and should be treated with a modicum of maturity. If a stupid thread is started a Mod or Admin should simply explain to the OP why it is wrong and close it. The cat pics (and their kin) smack of inadequacy to formulate a proper response.
