read in the Times today that the new Audi Q5 2.0 TDI will start at 38k when launched. Price seems very low to me (almost obtainable :D). Any reason to suppose this price is wrong??

I'd say it'll be close to 60k for entry level.. out of my range! Scooby D for me.

a bit off topic - but I read that the 2.0TDI in this give 170bhp. Anyone know if most of that is generated by a huge turbo and so loads of turbo lag or have VW engines come on that much in recent years?

30k in uk - so expect closer to 60 here - looks good but will probably be disappointing to drive

I'd buy a Kuga if they'd make a bloody auto one!

    Good review here: http://www.newcar.ie/2008/09/first-drive-audi-q5/

    0-100kmph in 9.5 seconds for the 2litre TFSI diesel, with 211HP / 350 torques

its 170bhp, you are mixing engines up

    The 2.0TDI is 170bhp, the 2.0 TSFI is 211bhp.

These are also Audi's new 'efficient' diesels, with a carbon output of less than most standard 4 door saloons.

no they arent, like i said you have mixed the power output of two engine up. And where did you get that last bit, from the audi website :D

the TFSI is a petrol engine, seen in the golf gti, audi tt etc.

anyone else think its odd audi putting these engine in the q7, id understand if they made a smaller jeep and put them in it

i mean i cant see (altho im sure it will happen now :D) bmw putting the 2.0d in the x5

    Sorry, I stand corrected.

This is the Q5 tho, not the Q7 - the Q7 is about 2.2 tons and the Q5 is about 1.7.

ah! now i stand corrected, sorry :)

i thought they were putting these engine in the q7, doh!

q5 is an bmw x3 type job then i presume
