Official pics of the first all-new Lotus since the Elise...

    http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/News/Search-Results/First-Official-Pictures/Lotus-Eagle-2009-first-picture/

It's a 2+2, so kinda like the Excel from the 80s which was a Porsche 944 competitor. Can't say it blows my socks off in these pics but an interesting cocktail of ingrediants for those who don't want to follow the conventional Porsche/BMW route.

If it drives as sublimely as Lotuses usually do it'll be the enthusiasts' choice...

    beautiful considering its a 4 seater !

They really do need to rethink the name though and perhaps even the whole 'E' thing if Eagle is all thats left

I've heard that the two rear seats are more for luggage of people with no legs rather than proper seats.

    Eagle is just the codename.

Re: rear sears from the review

In the back of the Eagle, but ahead of the mid-mounted engine, you’ll find two Isofix seats that are designed for children up to nine years old, or for occasional use by adults. Think 911 rear pews. But if you want to be more practical we suggest ticking the box that turns the rear seats into a luggage compartment.
