Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was checking through a little used email account yesterday and came across this correspondence from the department of justice. It's in relation to a letter of complaint I sent a year ago about the then minister's incompetence in the area of legislation for casinos in Ireland. This is the first reply to it that I have had...

    Dear Mr.

I wish to advise you that Mr. Neil Callanan from The Sunday Tribune made an FOI Request to the Department in relation to "attempts and lobbying bycasino operators and other gambling establishments to have legislation regarding these activities changed or amended". Under Section 28.(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 1997, a head shall refuse to grant a request under section 7, if, in the opinion of the head, access to the record concerned would involve the disclosure of personal information (including personal information relating to a deceased individual). As a document with your name and personal address upon it falls to be reviewed under the FOI Request I would ask you to indicate, by return, whether you agree to the releasing of your name and personal address ifreleasing the document under this FOI request. If I do not hear from you by the 10th July 2008, it will be taken that youdo not object to the release of your personal details. Replies by e-mail to [SNIPPED] by phone to (01) [SNIPPED]. Yours sincerely,

By the time I checked the email it was too late to do anything about it, so my private correspondence had been shared without my consent. My problem is that I am not a casino operator or representative of any gambling establishment, which undermines the reason they forward for sharing my letter in the first place, so my question is, is this legal?

While I can see where you are coming from OP, you were given ample opportunity to consent. Your unfortunate mistake does not make the process illegal.
