I don't know if this has been done before but I thought it might be a good idea if boardsies brought their dogs to a park or beach where we could let our dogs play and get socialized and the owners get talking etc

    Anyone up for it?

Honey, OMG how fab are they! Although they look so lazy, are you sure they wouldn't rather just stay curled up on the couch? :D

Thanks Tom, who are you on DID? I'm just plain old Helena.

I'm in Dublin and Sandymount is not to far from me it's a lovely place to walk dogs. Maybe start of with two or three dates a month and see how it go's. It would be a great opportunity for me to socialize some of the dogs I rescue before they are rehomed.

I'm on call at work all the time but definitely try to make it if it's possible.

Oh and Helena I'll bring one for you to walk too.

Is there going to be a rule that all the dogs are kept on the lead or something?

Why would there be a rule like this? why not let the doggy's play?

Restricted breeds need to be kept on leash all the time when in public places, they also need to be muzzeld.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 662 ✭✭✭LovelyTom

True but not everyone has a restricted breed ;)

Although I'd kill(not really but I'm sure you get me) for a staffy

This sounds like a bit of fun! I have three dogs and since I developed the auld Arthritis I can't walk the poor feckers as much as I would like to. So for those who have no dogs (by the way what are they doing on this thread if they don't have dogs??) I can provide well-behaved, longing for a walk dogs!! So any takers??

 Nice, I'll just get my coat.......................................... I'm assuming you are not going to read or comment on any of the threads here unless they are about dogs, or other animals you have. :P

Welcome to the animal forum BTW.

The Blue Cross used to do a Charity Run but I hav'nt heard anything about it in a long time maybe someone could organise a dog run/getogether Charity event, there are loads of places that could do with a few bob and I'm sure judging by the amount of people interested in animal welfare an event could be organised that could combine socialising for the waggies and the waggies owners!!!

So for those who have no dogs (by the way what are they doing on this thread if they don't have dogs??)

Eh? Has got absolutely nothing...whatsoever to do with this!!
The initial first half of your post was fine but you cant berate people for harmlessly posting in a forum with or without owning dogs and then refer it to something totally unrelated ...you're being silly now!

Sorry I thought this was a forum for people who were animal lovers who wanted to organise a socal getogether with their dogs, I did'nt realise it was an exclusive club for the socially retarded!

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,772 ✭✭✭✭Whispered

    :D:D:D

Do you make a habit of spouting random crap in public forums and making a fool of yourself?

You're funny, exactly the entertainment I need for a boring Thursday night.

I'm more than happy to walk someones dog, or if anyone is involved in rescue, I have no fosters at the moment, so can take one of yours. I have a halter and lead for a large dog.
