Well thats me out then,I own staffordshires and I refuse to muzzle them as they are in no way a danger to anyone elses dogs or any people/children for that matter. They have been very well socialised and love nothing more then running around (off lead) playing with other dogs and amongst themselves.

Have fun if it ever turns out

I have no problem with you bringing along your dogs. I doubt anyone else would either.

Have you ever been stopped for having them off lead?

Is this going ahead - would definitely be up for it my 3 lunatics LOVE meeting other dogs - we have a rottwelier and she is only 7 1/2 months old - she has to stay on lead not because she would go for another dog, quiet the opposite in fact - but she has hip problems and running is bad for it - but she isn't muzzled she wears a halti or a gentle lead.

Helena you can borrow one of my bouncing lunatics they will keep you entertained for hours - one of them I swear runs on duracell batteries.

What about the Phoenix Park - fawning season is nearly over so the dogs won't be restricted to certain areas - lots of open space - have gone for a few charity dog walks up there and always had a great time.

Thank you Tom,I dont let my dogs roam around of lead,if we go for a walk there on lead walking next to me,i do however let them of lead when theres nobody around in a park or field, they dont run off and come back when called, ive never once been stopped in regards to a having to muzzle them and I put them on lead when passing people,I was only thinkin about what another poster said about leaving them off to play which I no my dogs would enjoy. Not to worry I have a feeling it may not turn out

Yahhh!!! Sharky will have someone to play foot ball with and all the pic's are great.

I don't think that it would be fare to keep them on leads when they have so many to play with but I do think that we should keep them on leads until they all settle down as a few might not work out. I'm happy to walk with anyone muzzled or unmuzzled as long as they take responsibility for there dogs actions, me included as I only have one dog I trust of lead and only one will be let off.

I think that August is to far away how about July 27th next Sunday and see how it go's but maybe some were else until the ban on muzzling lurcher's/greyhounds is of. Any suggestions ?

I'd love to come along for this and July 27th sounds great to me. That area at the Papal cross is perfect. I'd be delighted to meet a bunch of you guys for this get together. I'm living in Swords if anyone is interested in walks on Donabate beach. Lovely long stretch of beach.

Hi LovelyTom, St Annes sounds good but is it possible to have the dogs off the lead up there ?? My dog is better at meeting dogs when shes off the lead.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 186 ✭✭KhuntChops

Right ive been watching this thread for a bit now to see if anybody could come to a decision but it doesnt look like it SoOoOoOo...

27th of July (Sunday this week)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 662 ✭✭✭LovelyTom

    I'm in.

St Annes would suit me a lot better but I can find a way to Phoenix Park.
And dogs are allowed off leads in St Annes after 5pm

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 186 ✭✭KhuntChops

    That a good thing?

  • Registered Users Posts: 239 ✭✭MissyN

You'll have to give me some directions Tom .....:)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 662 ✭✭✭LovelyTom

It's the big entrance on sybil hill road... If there is any problem with the meeting place it can be changed

  • Registered Users Posts: 239 ✭✭MissyN

No thats grand...I've gone through that entrance many times before a few years back but wouldn't be so familiar with any other entrances so I had to make sure I know where I'm going. Thanks a mill.

I don't have a clue were st. Anne's park is north or south. I'm on the south side but don't mind going north just don't know were I'm going (and no jokes about woman and directions thank you)

I do think that we should have it maybe just a little later tho as traffic on the M50 to get any were is always bad around lunch time and I see some can't get of work till late.

So how would about 4 suit.

  • Registered Users Posts: 239 ✭✭MissyN

I think around 5 or 6pm would be great so that we can have the dogs off the leads. St Annes is on the northside of Dublin in Killester so if you go into aaireland and the route planner and that should give you the most direct route to go.
