Try to get your hands on "Ring of Hell " "The story of Chris Benoit @ the fall of the Pro Wrestling Industry" Book .
I believe it is a great read.
Does not set out to turn you off Wrestling, but from all accounts, you will never watch Wrestling in the same way again.
    Off now, night all.:)

I loved Benoit man. Really did! had some flying pegasus stuff, fave match was him vs Angle at WM 17.

He was an amazing performer alright, didn't need promos or anything like that to get the fans on his side, just did it all in the ring and you always felt that if someone was getting in the ring with him then they had better have their shit together. Just pure intensity and ferociousness, absolutely incredible. It's horrible to watch his matches now and think that every time he got a chair shot or did a flying headbutt or something like that it could have been a factor in the tragedy that happened

I've heard it's essential reading for wrestling fans, keep meaning to get a copy but can't find one anywhere and I don't buy stuff over the interwebz *paranoid*

So if I say something naughty to you on a Saturday night when the Moon is almost full, will you ban me? (B!ue reaches into her handbag and pulls out a box of rubber bans. Need one?)

You know, he was supposed to be an incredibly light worker. People loved matches with him because they'd never get hurt but always get over... it is a terrible thing.

I read sex lies and headlocks, it analyses the steroid trials. I knew the industry was pure scum when I was done with that.

Oh it's ok, we can still do the spanking, but I agree that we shouldn't tell Doom, it will be our little secret :D:p

Yep, he was up there with Shawn Michaels & HHH as one of the safest people to work with, but he made it look like he was ripping someone apart while not doing any damage at all, and that takes a whole load of talent. Any idiot can hurt someone, but it takes a whole load of skill to make it look like you are and make it believable.

I haven't read that, any ideas on where I could pick it up? I know the industry is pure scum, but I'd like some actual evidence and references if you know what I mean

Depends how naughty it is and how much rubber is involved.

Cool, that would be great if you could give me a lend of it dude, cheers! Is it about the original steroid trial with Hogan, cos Vince got away with that one by the skin of his teeth. Vince is a scumbag, he's the Don King of wrestling.

Thats exactly what its about. He escaped effectively because wrestlers tend to be such scumbags, the workers who testified against him were effectively useless as a witness. It also talks a bit about how vince got where he was at that point.

Yeah, it was a bit of a catch 22 for the prosecution. The only people they could call as witnesses were people who had to admit they were drug users (steroids, I know, but drugs = bad in America, especially back then). If it wasn't for Vince's love of big guys then wrestlers wouldn't feel they have to do steroids. The whole system is messed up.

And as far as how Vince got to where he is, this sums it up quite well I think. About 5 minutes in is where it gets serious. The pure passion of what he says is amazing, and he's right too imo

    We're all in the matrix.

Speaking of movies, that new batman one is fantastic. Teh joker was brilliant, even cooler than batman he was. Made a fool of myself though, hopping about at every little shock, all the fellows about me had a grand laugh.....so they did.

hah, yeah they did over do it a good bit. The joker had a bit of an inhumane voice too, like at the start where he is all "LOOK AT MEE!!!" and the whole screen shakes. I was freaking out by then. I can't think of what the next one in the series is gonna be like, but it will probably have poisen ivy as the villain. none of the others would fit really.
