Aside from the TdF, another big stage race at the moment is the Tour of Qinghai Lake in China. Possibly is the highest race in the word with an average elevation of 3000 meters(!)

Big names taking part are Tyler Hamilton, Oscar Sevilla and Victor Hugo Pena of the American Rock Racing team.

But never mind that, currently in 4th place on GC after 8 stages is Ireland's David McCann, just 1'17 down on Tyler Hamiltion in 1st and 5 secs ahead of Oscar Sevilla who's 5th.

    In the 3.8km Prologue, McCann came 2nd (4min 13), ahead of Sevilla (3rd - 4min 16) and Hamilton (12th - 4min 25)

Other Irish Riders taking part are Cairan Power (72nd) and Martyn Irvine (94th) of Pezula racing, who AFAIK missed the fstart of the race but were allowed to ride at the organisers discretion and given the slowest time recorded in the prologue.
