I had an Irish teacher in secondary school who was called GOC. It was weird because his initials were COG but I guess the other way around sounded better. He had dreadful fashion sense and looked like Mr. Bean.

Gok Wan - a Sino-British stylist. Has the misfortune of having a first name that rhymes with his favourite thing in the world... (sorry). Well maybe it's not his first name cuz of the whole Chinese reversal name thingie but it's what he's known as.

Anyway, he's a very talented stylist. He really has a great eye for the correct styles to suit different shapes, and he does beautiful things with outfits in terms of accessorising them etc. Plus, he seems to have loads of tricks up his sleeve (heh) for turning something mundane into something knockout. I'm not a shopping obsessed bint only concerned with what's "fashionable" and I have mucho respect for him. He's also all about the being confident with your body thing - How To Look Good Naked was his show. So he may be extraordinarily camp and feisty, but he doesn't come across as your stereotypical nasty bitchy queen working in the fashion world who'd call a size 8 17-year-old "fat-ass".

We need more Goks in this world!

Maybe he was talking more about the general deification of these television gurus. People are 'learning' how to live their lives from TV.

Ah I love Gok. He is a tough as nail I would also say. But he is the 1st fashionista that doesn't think all girls should be like rake's. I did get sick of the 'How to look good naked' after a while same thing every week but some of the stuff he does is great. He has clothes for all shapes not just twigs.
