Ever stay in bed all weekend?

I'm doing it right now. I'm even typing this post in bed now on my latop!

Came home from work yesterday and got into bed. 16 or so hours later and I'm still here. Haven't moved an inch apart to goto the toilet or get more food/beer from the kitchen. I plan to see if I can keep it going until Monday morning.

Got a huge stock of beer here and lots of pizza in the fridge so I'm in full survival mode.

I'm currently watching some movies and surfing the net (mainly youtube, ebay and porn). It's a grand old time.

Some people would call that a "weekend wasted", but I'd have to say it's just the ticket.

So have you ever just "had a weekend in bed"? Doesn't count if you did just because you were sick or had some lovely fleshy company with you. I'm talking about a weekend in bed just cos you are very very very lazy?

2/3 days would have been the most and I was fairly sick.

Think i'll spend today in bed. Pizza sounds like a plan. Hmmm.

I'd love to have the luxury of having the choice to do so, but having small kids means I can't stay in bed even when I should be in it!

If ya can do it, it's your right - nay, your obligation - to do it! It's one of life's greatest pleasures - enjoy! :)

    Totally agree :D

I went to bed at nine last night and watched tv til midnight. Slept til noon today and only got up now cos I have to go visit friends. :(

If I could have I would have cancelled and stayed in bed til Monday ;)

    Enjoy OP :P

Not in years. I was sick as a dog that weekend. It was the first time I drank heavily and don't remember all the night out.

Sometimes you just need to recharge your batteries, eh? I don't think I've ever done a whole weekend, but there's been days...

thats where i want to be now.

Easily done it before. Its the perfect weekend. I've a 50 inch screen at the end of my bed and allt he sky channels so I wa never short of some entertainment, even Jerry Springer made and appearance or two. Internet access only proves you aint being unsociable, infact the opposite. Pizza and beer might not be a great diet because it'll eventually lead to increasing time in the toilet and less in the bed. Making me feel jealous of ya now because I have a work do tonight I can't get out of

I love bed but it would never occur to me to spend all day not to mind all weekend in it! I just feel that I'd be missing out on life - workdays are spent at work and are usually so regimented that I feel my free time sometimes is my only "living" time and I'd hate wasting a minute of it when I could be chalking up another life experience. This is why I really hate being too hungover to do anything on days off.

While every once in a while everyone needs to recharge the batteries I don't believe you can do this by lying in bed for days, eating unhealthy food, drinking beer and watching porn.

Well I honestly believe that cutting yourself off from society from a Friday afternoon to Monday morning cannot be good for your mental health.

Don't think I've ever spent more than 12-14 hours in bed and that was with an ex, even when I was sick. I love sleep, but I'm the kind that can't stay still or be in a single place for too long.

It all sounds excellent and I fully approve, though in the interests of full disclosure, you should add 'frenetic ****' to the list of activities. :D

I think I'd get a bit bored after a day or two...

I have done it, usually it's when i have to adjust back to day shifts after work and i **** it all up and wake up at 9pm and decide I will just stay in bed and get up at 6am or something. This meant almost 24 hours in bed straight mostly alseep. That's also a good way to get 24 hours sleep.

I do not recommend the night shift. It really destroys your lifestyle and you turn into a mean bastard and all your work mates turn mean also and the bosses are there years and are socially ill people ( who always claim they aren't) and you all start plotting against each other and generally go mad until we go back to day shifts again. Boss is also a prick as a bonus, TBH the dole is a better and more healthy option; than taking a career with night shift work.

I tried it once, except by weekend I mean Monday morning back at college. Went to bed Sunday night at about 11PM but "hit the wall" at about 5PM Monday evening. I just couldnt take it any longer. I am weak.

I've done that many a weekend, its great. Just need to unwind after a stressful week at work and a full weekend in bed does the trick. I go into work on Monday and you get the usuall talk what you do over the weekend, they go on about spending so many 100 euro going out to x,y,z and not remember half of it. If they ask what I did I just tell them out straight, sure they look at you funny, ask are you feeling ok etc.

You just can't beat a weekend of ''I love me'' time and just turn off the phone on Friday evening and feck it in a corner till Monday.

Oooh, I've never done that. People might get worried, though...

I made the mistake of getting a digital tv connection put in my bedroom before. Thats when I found out me ex was the laziest person ever, spent 4 days in bed. Whicbhad its perks, but wrecked my head after day 2. but really only because I couldnt get the remote off her!

Actually I think being exposed to society 24/7 is what's bad for your mental health.

two days without social interaction every now and then won't harm your mental health if anything it probably helps.

it's a nice non stressfull luxry, he's not doing it every weekend.

    Its good for you!:D

A good bed, some beer - take out food - why complain.

What a way to spend the weekend.

Sometimes I get up on Saturday, to have a sleep on the couch.

A few weekends ago, the OH said that I only got up on Sunday to sleep in front of the telly!

    Enjoy! :D

dont think i could, might make it till about 2 to 3pm on a sunday, and thats after a saturday night, would have to get up and do something, the idea of eating a take away in my bed, makes me shudder, have no problem watching TV, surfing the net on my lappy, or music on, from under the duvet, but my idea of a lazy weekend would be doing all of the above on the sofa
