If no-one here can help you out, gumtree.ie is a pretty good place for this type of thing - I've seen simular ads there in the past.

Lol, don't think there are many serial killers in Dublin, just pointing out that meeting up with randomers from a board might not be a great idea! :)

Traveling around London is pretty straightforward on the tubes so if your used to american subways (you are american ? ) like NYC then no problem .Same in dublin except you have option of getting around city on Luas (tram ) bus or train . You can purchase a weekly bus rail or Luas ticket which works out cheaper if on a budget .Scotland is easier to get to London and vice versa .You will of course have to get a ferry to Dublin which will require you to go to holyhead via London or you can get a train down from scotland which might involve 2 or 3 train journeys .You can also try get a flight from London or scotland to Dublin

Check out www.ryanair.com for all flights and fares or www.britishairways.com

In other cities I've found people to show me around on hospitalityclub.org (also couchsurfing.com) and I've done it for people who asked me there. Seeing the profile - less chance of serial killer!

There are regular beers with boardsies all the time, you could always come along and meet some people and no doubt they will show you the pints sights.
