Have this motherboard in a pc am using at the moment until my main pc is built. I have 8gig ram spare (all 1gig sticks) 4gig in pc2 8500 ram, 2gig in pc2 8000 ram and 2gig in pc2 6400 ram. All the ram works but the pc2 8000 ram only works if the voltage is increased and 2gig of the pc2 8500 ram wont work in the motherboard. The 8500 ram that works in the motherboard wont run with the 8000 ram or the 6400 ram. Would there be any tweaking i could do to get any of the 4 sticks to work together to have 4gig ram, dont mind if it all runs at 6400 as is only a temperary measure until my ddr3 is delivered next week from dabs. Not sure about overclocking so havent done any bios changes (only change have ever done is to increase the voltage tonight to try get it to work).
Only reason looking to use 4gb is for conan using vista.
http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=334571 thats the pc2 8500 ram. The two gig of it that works in the pc have a slightly different heatsink than the ones that dont so one set could be a different revision of it?

No offence mate, but you don't expect us to advise on a complicated compatibility issue, when all the information about the RAM that you provided, is "Xgig in pc2 XXXX ram"?
How about some brand/model names, part numbers etc. Also, are all the DIMMs you have operational? Have you tried them on another board?

Indeed, more info is needed. Also have you tried updating the bios ?

Should have taught to give more detail. I have the motherboard on its most recent bios
    This is the pc2 6400 ram. http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=BL2KIT12864AA80A
The pc2 8000 ram is like this but they dont seem to sell it any more. I think it was replaced by the
    Pc2 8500 ram they have now http://oc.adata.com.tw/product-series.asp?sid=03
    This is the Pc2 8800ram http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=BL2KIT12864AA106A
Anymore information that would be needed?
Any help would really be appreciated.

From checking google, there are alot of people having memory issues with this board:

    http://pecos-softwareworks.com/ecs_p965t-a.shtml

Being as ECS are probably the worst maker of motherboards on the market (dodgy bios', Cheap parts etc etc) im hardly supprised their site has no list of compatible ram. Downloaded their 20mb manual.... 20 fecking MB for a manual.. This also has no mentions.

I think your choices are to either RMA the board ... And thats about it really. I'm also betting you bought this from PcWorld yeah ?

Oh, found this in an older manual of theirs:

Nah I got it when i bought two computers together off someone. I knew it was difficult to overclock just didnt think would have problems with the ram :(. When i've finished my main pc i will replace this motherboard then. I've got a P5E3 WS professional motherboard and this ram http://www.dabs.ie/ProductView.aspx?Quicklinx=50TV&CategorySelectedId=11025&PageMode=1&InMerch=1. I have that to use to start trying to overclock.
Could you recommend a motherboard for less than 100 new/second hand that could use the ram on?

I've never had any problems with it, and cant really find any on google, apart from people being stupid and buying the wrong ram/cpu.

Think will read into it a bit more and if no one else seems to be having problems with it i might try it again. I could have just got unlucky and the guy was just rambling.

I had that board, the p965ta, and while I never had any actual problems, it was such an incredibly **** board.....

I wouldnt be inclined to believe many or the guys in peats, alot of them seem like its the first time they have ever seen pc equipment. Went in to pick up a replacement powersupply a while back and didnt want to wait for online ordering, the guy in there was asking me questions about the pc which at the time was the tri sli 780i, instead of picking up the 850 antec they had he told me to go to pcworld and pick up a jeantech... Walked out immediatly and ordered from komplett
