I think this is limit to the speed of the speed tester, not my network.

In fairness my Home Internet is only about 11Mbps down and 1.5Mbps up (Metro, over 12km in Limerick). I did have 3M/512k and liked it so much I got a job with them 5 months later. I got the speed upgrade more recently to raise my cap :) I rarely exceed 10G a month though.

Seems to be a limit of their software I think

I highly doubt there is a limit. Look at the speeds ive gotten in college.

Why on earth do colleges have such a high capacity connection?

They kinda need them in fairness...

TCD has a primary gigabit connection, and a secondary 380Mbit connection.
