Has he got something in his claws?
Looked like a rabbit but its a male spar so not a hope its a rabbit. Maybe just the way its freeze framed it looks like something

yes you should watch the video that I linked to

it's likely a chaffinch, less likely is greenfinch as these are the 2 that mostly feed at that spot.I couldn't tell at the time as the hawk had it well covered and I was fumbling to grab camera

Fantastic picture, what part of the country did you take this.

Taken in a waterford city suburb garden, 5 feet from the back door when i saw it. Kept coming back so easy to get a picture of as long as i didnt make sudden movements

After all the good weather there seems to be plenty of bees, hovers and butterflies about, don't often see Peacocks about but there is plenty this year

I've taken quite a few photos this summer, but with the heat and the fact that my PC is right under two skylights I haven't done a lot of editing.
But I was delighted recently to spot this grey wagtail up in a tree. Made a welcome change from the dingy Liffey mudflats at low tide.

While I'm at it - we got lucky at Lake Korission in Corfu earlier this year and saw a whole flock of flamingoes as well as the usual suspects. Not seen them there before, it was a lovely surprise.
Of course I didn't have my longer zoom with me but at least they were on our side of the lagoon :(.

Spotted these three under the car today. They were not easily spooked as the dog was stalking them.
No idea what they are though? Picture is not great.

They look like Pigeons - ones raised in captivity, more than likely for racing.

Took some of these guys in Bull Island/Clontarf/St. Anne's Park this evening.

Once again, I command the help of OpenYourEyes to assist me in identifying some (and no doubt correcting me :P)

Unknown duck is mallard/domestic duck hybrid.
    The merlin is a kestrel.
    All others are correct.

Here's a shot of a lunge-feeding Minke Whale taken on a recent whalewatching trip out with Colin Barnes of Cork Whale Watch:

    Whalewatching-9-of-30.jpg?resize=553%2C367

It was an extraordinary trip, with over half a dozen minke whales behaving like this, with massive clouds of gannets, shearwaters and dozens of common dolphins all in a feeding frenzy.

The only views I've ever had of minke whales before was typical brief glimpses of the rolling back and small dorsal fin. This was simply incredible. I wrote a blog post about it here, and you can see more images from the trip over in this Flickr set.
