goldcrest (regulus regulus) flew into my window earlier, I couldn't resist picking it up , very gently , to see if it was injured.Must have been stunned as it flew off after recovering--video over on video upload thread

Sorry to lower the tone guys, but I spotted these two critters within a couple of hundred metres of each other while out driving today.I had to get out and take a closer look(apologies about the poor images, but they were taken with my ancient mobile phone). The rabbit looks like it's a melanisitic wild rabbit, but I'm not sure?Seeing the red squirrel was a surprise because I was wholly unaware that they were present in my local area. The bizarre and rather sad thing was that I had seen four dead mammals within a one kilometre stretch of road - these two,a young fox and another rabbit.

Aw that's a real shame, hope they were not poisoned? The black bunny is quite common in my neck of the woods (Wicklow) I have a couple that visit the garden regularly.

@Fruit1985, that's a Little Grebe - Red-Necked Grebes are much rarer, Little Grebes are quite widespread.

This is an image I took of the recent Harvest Moon(known as a 'supermoon' phenomenon).A supermoon occurs when a full moon or new moon makes its closest approach to the earth on its elliptical orbit. The Harvest Moon is the full moon that falls closest to the Northern Hemisphere's autumnal equinox on the 22nd. September.Okay, one can argue that it's not strictly a nature image, but I've always wondered what effect the lunar cycles have on our wildlife. Here's an interesting article from the BBC's Wildlife Magazine about some research carried out in relation to the lunar cycle's influence on the lives of a badger family:
