Went for a walk down through the forest today to see the destruction after a week of cutting:mad:, and on the way back I meet this red on it's way down with some bedding.

    338140.jpg

And after a long time following it to see where it was going, I lost sight of it in the tree tops, but I know where it got that bedding so I can watch that tree and then I can get to where I lost sight of it and wait and wait :).

You'd certainly need to go to 1/800th second or above
The shot of the Reed Bunting above was 1/2500th sec

A lot of the posters here use upload/share sites where the photo itself gives full exif data on all the camera/lens/ settings of each photo.

So if you double click on the photo , all these details become available.
    I always do that:)
    Hoping to learn

Thank you for that insight! I take pics of squirrels, birds, plants, with a Canon Eos 40 and would NEEEEEVEEER have had the temerity to put them up here, given the quality of the photography here. Am off to experiment!

I think I will shortly be saying farewell to my lovely Reed Bunting visitors for this year - from 4 regulars for long spells of the day last week - it was down to 1 today with a few short visits. Food must be getting more plentiful at the waterside a mile or so away.
Or maybe it's the mating time- BTW these birds can be a bit promiscuous!

Dear members of the Academy, it is a great honour to accept this award.

I'd firstly like to thank my family for all the great support they have given me over the years -all of my grandparents have sadly passed away but I know they are in heaven looking down on me and so proud of me at this time..
...and thanks too, to my agent who has worked tirelessly to get me to the place where I am today...and who no doubt is looking for a large slice of the prize money!

What you mean no prize money?
