I observed a Robin catching young Sticklebacks in the canal this evening.
The young Sticklebacks were taking refuge in the surface weeds and oblivious to the Robin looking down upon them from the reeds above. After catching one, the Robin would strike the fish off the reed stalks before swallowing it. It was fascinating to watch, and something I had not seen before.

I rarely get Blackbirds in my garden so I thought it worth posting this feller, who was very co-operative and stayed around for a few minutes.

Today's other visitors include a Wren and a Longtailed Tit, but I failed to get usable pictures.

    Great news!:):)

    He's back!

This male reed bunting made a quick visit to the garden this morning- he just had a look around for a while and took off! Hopefully he will come back with a few friends ( as last year).
