Delighted to spot this little Red Squirrel at Newcastle Wood today. Only 2nd time to see it there, but was within about 50 yards of where I saw one previously.

    7S5D8351.jpg

While waiting around for my mystery sound, I noticed all this grit on the overturned tree I was sitting on, coming from droppings. Not sure what kind?

    IMG_20160316_160048.jpg

Also spotted some tracks and I don't know what else down by the river.

The eggs are most likely those of a White-clawed Crayfish, and the tracks with three forward facing toes would have been made by a bird I would imagine.

Just looking at the tracks again and there may be small mammal paw prints there too? Could be Mink, and hence why there are remains of White-clawed Crayfish eggs?

    Wallfruit
    llmdi.jpg

This is my front wall, I'm very proud to have this, I believe it was built by Workhouse inmates. There are a lot of walls just like this in and around my home town.

    expanded view

    219xqi0.jpg

"It is believed that the edible snail or Roman snail was introduced to England during the Roman occupation. In Gloucestershire they are known as wall fruit." I always knew that but not where it came from, so had to check my source.

    Hi Hotei.
Nice sharp photos of the Bee,

Can I ask where you are seeing the Tree Creeper ? The last one I saw was last summer in Turvey but failed to get a decent shot of it.

After seeing the Bee , I think I'll get out the Macro lens and put it in the Bag....

I took the image of the Treecreeper in St. Fiachra's Garden in the Irish National Stud, Kildare town. There's loads of them there. Another place where I've seen them is Donadea Forest Park close to Prosperous, Co.Kildare (it's also a great spot for Jays).

I thought the bird would be quite clear to viewers , all you have to do is read the Title of the Photo.... " Buzzard on this Flight "

I think Savagethegoat was going for a Ryanair-based joke rather than actually querying what the bird was, which as you said was in the title of the photo.

Glaucous Gull - they breed in Iceland, Greenland, northern Canada and Siberia and winter slightly south of that, and are a scarce visitor to Ireland. There's something impressive about them (probably their size!).
