Chillax - I was just commenting about the strands of silk that I saw in the picture. I'm a simple livestock farmer. I know feck all about invertebrates other than doing the Leaving Cert many year ago.
I though that this forum would be a nice place to learn from and educate myself but it seems one needs a Degree to post here.

Just to say that I immediately copped on to what you said and really appreciated your comment :)

    Mod Note:

Ah lads, I'm not going to get into this in detail here but suffice it to say that every single poster online has a different posting tone. If you have a problem with a post then report it or message a Mod and discuss it. Lets keep threads on topic, particularly this thread where the focus is on pictures.

    Shoveller's I think

They were a few feet apart swimming in tight circle, diving occasionally for something.

It's not easy getting the birds to sit still but here's a few of my regular visitors sans hawfinch.

I think I mentioned before about the local guy here who told me about the heron following the cormorant and staying adjacent to it at the water’s edge in the hope the cormorant will ‘force’ the fish to the sides.

Here are a few pics from this morning which give that some credence – the heron flew down after the cormorant.

These fellas have been hanging around on and off for about the past month in a nearby field.
Can anyone tell me are they whoopers or something else?
