More likely with Ryanair they have to book their own accommodation.

Just heard an interview with spokesperson from Dublin airport.

The Airport is NOT closing this afternoon, just not operational.

    Work that one out.
No flights but the terminals open. Lot of the catering outlets closed due to no staff. Macs is closed! Disaster!

Shannon airport snow free apparently, but no public transport to bring you home if your flight is diverted there. No snow at all in Limerick, but no buses, trains. N7/8 Is completely usable.

If the weather crowd are excitable, listen to this meaningless blather from the National Emergency and Panic Agency. WTF do those statements actually mean?

If you reschedule your flights do you have to pay extra if there is a difference in flight prices?

If your outbound is cancelled do you get refund for it and return flight? Return flight useless if it's only 3 days after cancelled outbound

There's snow in Shannon alright, but not that much and it's operational.

Just on the 6 news there, not a snowflake in sight, 30 flights diverted there but no transport to get the people anywhere. It's a joke. Total over reaction. Motorways clear all day and no buses. Passengers whose flight were cancelled in Dublin airport had to walk into the city on completely clear roads. This whole NECC crowd are worse than the weather with their decisions. The language being used was of a 4.00 pm CURFEW. It's like North Korea. Your man muttering away like Kim Jong with a couple of uniforms behind him.

Filled in Ryanair refund form for my cancelled flight and had it in my account in 6 hours. Very impressed!

Not sure I want to jump on board with your clear agenda here (should be taken to another forum tbh), but there was clearly snow in the picture.

I would have thought so. I know RY are a point to point airline but if you booked both legs as one booking you only have one booking number.

Confess this would have cost me, as I seldom book both legs at same time.

herself was due to fly Dub-Stn yesterday but got a notification on her phone that the flight was cancelled...then we noticed later on that it had actually taken off, the last flight out of Dublin, I think. Anyone got an idea why she got the notification? On reflection, it wasn't a text from Ryanair, must have been Google being 'clever' or something. Not sure how she was expected to get to the airport either, with no public transport running. Any idea if we have comeback? As the flight wasn't officially cancelled, the 'refunds' section of the Ryanair website won't accept the application, and emails to customer service just get a pro-forma reply directing us to the same parts of the website.

I wish they'd cancel my flight tomorrow. I've a 80m driveway with 2 foot snow drifts, then 5km of country road which is impassable.

Help needed. I am trying to book a new flight from Amsterdam to Dublin; the original flight for Friday 2 March 2018 has been cancelled because of the snow. All goes smoothly on Ryanair's web pages until I select my new flight. The "continue" button is greyed-out. I have tried selecting other days, other flights but the button remains greyed-out. Ryanair's help phone and live chat are constantly busy. Any advice?

Bit late and maybe you have resolved but are you sure have checked all the 'I accept terms and conditions boxes' I had a cancelled flight today and was seeking a refund with the same issue till I noticed a box I had missed.

I was due to fly today, physically cannot get to the airport but flight was not cancelled (and at this point in time is still going).

Got a text sonf email from Ryanair with option to cancel or reschedule as the delay will be greater than 3 hours - took the option to cancel.

Pity the people at the airport as the notification was 5 minutes before due to fly and new flight time was 12 hours ahead!

You should have got the same option based on my reading of your post it was delayed for 3 hours?

I got one of those emails as my flight was delayed but I chose refund (as I too couldn't get to the airport) but it came up as not eligible as my flight left 2 hours 50 minutes late :(

I think it was only delayed for about 70 minutes. I got an email about rescheduling with a link, and tried to use it, but the website said "Unfortunately, this flight change cannot be made online".

Am I reading this correctly; RY send emails saying your flight is going to be delayed ( by more than 3 hours ) and give 3 options....

Then later ....tough but that flight was less than 3 hours late so you get nothing.

Or am I mis- reading this?

During storm Ophelia we were re directed to Newcastle and our departing flight from Newcastle was 5 hours late. We sent off the forms for compensation, heard nothing from Ryanair except that we weren’t entitled to the compensation. When we replied twice asking why, they didn’t respond. Is it too late to do anything about this?

You are not entitled to compensation in that situation, i.e. weather.

No the weather re directed us to Newcastle. But leaving Newcastle, the plain had technical issues not related to weather.

You will have to issue a case in small claims if you believe you are entitled to compensation.

Well from the above scenario, am I entitled to it?

The legislation is open to interpretation, it is quite broad.

Not a big fan of a compo culture and I think in this instance Ryanair made a good effort to accommodate you, but if you feel you are entitled to it take it to the small claims court, the potential payout is alot more than the cost of the court. There's also firms that specialise in getting this compo for you.

Tbh I’m not into the Compo culture myself and have never claimed a penny in my life. I just don’t like the way Ryanair haven’t the deceny to even respond with an answer.

To update, got on to Ryanair live chat today and they REFUNDED me! I didn't even have to fight it, I just said I got the email and the link wouldn't allow me to submit the form. Agent asked if I'd like a refund, I said yes please and hey presto. Absolutely flabbergasted but so impressed!
