Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My uncle is ready for flooring upstairs in two storey and I'll be at that stage in another month or two so just wondering if anyone here has used rockwool rock floor to create http://www.rockwool.ie/sw63762.asp

Anyone got any thoughts on it?

    1. if not planned at early stage in works then floor to ceiling heights and floor to window cill heights will be affected . Usual floor zone is nominal 250 - 13 plaster ceiling 225 joist 18 floorboards . This floor build up is a lot thicker than that

    2. that floor system give an excellent sound reduction performance - but i reckon , more than required for most homes . But , if you are thinking of recessed lighting - forget it - performance will be shot .

If the aim is to improve sound reduction , simply add 150 rockwool acoustic mat between joists and 2 layers of plasterboard to ceiling . And no recessed lighting

its only about 60 - 70 mm off the ceiling height which for excellent sound proofing is worth it imo, I was just wondering if anyone has used type of insulation between sheets of ply

    Thanks for the reply btw
