Is this place still open to the public?

I have large plastic childs sit in car that I need to get rid of. Could I take it there?

Yes. I think it is cheaper to dump stuff there if you can fit it in the boot of a car than if you bring it in a trailer. Free to get rid of electric/electronic stuff also.

I have been dismantling the car for the last while, trying to get it small enough to fit in the car. :(

I gave them a ring when I eventually got the number and told them what it was. They said that they don't recycle that type of plastic but they would take it and there would be a charge of about €5.

Hopefully I'll get in there tomorrow, fingers crossed.
