another escallonia bug

This relates to an earlier thread started by Ryanrod. My escallonia has what seems to be a very similar problem - see attached photos. It's a mature shrub, about 10 feet tall and our garden is by the sea. I don't recall seeing leaves like this on it before. Is it the same problem Ryanrod faced? And did the treatment work?…

Is it the same problem Ryanrod faced? And did the treatment work? My inclination at the moment is to remove it, but it gives us a bit of privacy so I'm reluctant.
