Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hey guys

i applied for job seekers benefit a few weeks ago and just got a letter to come in next week to discuss my claim. I wonder what this can be?

I'm wondering if its to do with my references? do they check these throughly? one of mine wasn't real cos i hadn't heard back from many people at the time, but i have lots of genuine replies now that i could bring just in case.(stupid i know)
    what will they do?

    Thanks

    Hi,
normally when you apply you will have to do an interview at some stage, it may just be this. They will just ask you if your lookin for work, your circumstances etc. If your worried you could call them and ask what it's about and ask if you need to bring any document with you.

EDIT; I say that on the presumption that your claim hasn't been fully processed yet, you haven't received a payment?

No i haven't received any payment yet. however i was on claiming before for 5 months and signed off about 3 months ago as was going away.

At the time i was still registered at my college but wasn't attending.got a call from dept saying they said they needed a letter form my college stating when i finished up.
i forgot to send it on when i signed off and headed away. could it be this?

    thanks so much

I'm not here to judge anyone!:)
It could be the college thing, but you'd imagine they would have advised you to bring a letter along or some such if that's what it was about. The procedure may have changed since i've been through it so i'm not sure. Obviously if you've claimed before you will know the story. Maybe they just want to know what your circumstances were that you signed on/off combined with the college thing. Sorry i cant be of much more help, maybe someone else can advise.

I wouldnt worry about it too much, just have yourself prepared for the questions and best of luck with it and jobseeking!
