DIT V DCU

Hi I have to make a choice between DCU and DIT for the masters programmes. Could anyone give me any advice?

DIT is a short bus trip away. DCU would be an absolute nightmare to get to but is it a better programme and does it have a better reputation?

Life would be a lot easier for me with DIT but is DCU worth the extra hassle? Thanks.

Just weigh the pros and cons. In the end, your training and certification is what matters.

Which accountancy body will you be studying with after your degree?
What exemptions will the degree give you with that accountancy body?
If available, compare the figures on where graduates have gone from each school?
Which school suits you more, including people, modules, location, etc.?

In the end, you will have a masters degree and receive exemptions. With a masters degree from either place, I don't see you having any issues finding a trainee position and completing your qualification. The qualification and your training will be more important than where you got your degree, especially since both are approved programs.

Hopefully someone out there has graduated from one of the programs and can give you some insight as to what it is like. You posted on Friday, so I would give it a couple days. Most people tend to read and post during the week.

    Good luck.
    Cheers!

Have you decided? Doing the one in DIT myself, from what I see there's no difference, have a contract with a big 4 firm when I finish so all that really matters is exemptions.

DCU is better to you if you decide in the future that you may want to lecture. I applied to Maynooth and DCU, went with Maynooth because it's closer to my home commute wise 15-20mins tops along the N4, my rugby club is 10 mins from the place and you do your thesis in the second semester unlike everywhere else which is during the summer months!. To be honest I couldn't care where I do it really because at the end of the day you'll hopefully have your exemptions and will qualify as a CA within a few years.
