I missed bits of it because I am in work and people keep coming into the office and asking me questions - How dare they ! She did not give too much away about current storylines but she was very chatty and friendly. She spoke about her early days in FC and all The Doyles. She spoke about the work schedule and how well she gets on with Damien on set. Colm asked her about the Neasa/Damien story and how it will all come out. Obviously she did not say. He asked her about a possible affair with Louie (sorry ;)) We will have to wait and see. I'm sure it will be on a podcast. I will check it out as soon as the boss leaves for the golf course :D

Bit harsh from Bob about Louies children. They hate each other, yes, but Bob has lost a son; he watched as his partner lost her son.

Dolores is being wasted sitting around with Esther and Charlie drinking tea. She's too young and good looking to be wasting away like that. Put her back in with Wayne or develop an unhealthy obsession with Tommy Dillon. Do something.

What happened with Dolores and Deegan or was that dropped?

That Bob mocking scene in the pub. The whole episode was building up to something we were led to believe was gonna be an ultra clever trap. And then we got that let down! Pffft!

Okay, I'm no fan of soaps, but this Nessa caught my attention and I got caught up in the Bob storyline.

I'm wondering what the writer's intention were with that pub scene?

If I was to choose, I'd have to side with Bob.

Okay, so stealing from the charity collection was low, but he was in a bad way. And he seemed genuinely remorseful.

He was beaten by the resident thug.
He was wrongly accused of sexual assault.
Was harassed and lost his job.

Now Louie attacks him in public over a personal petty grudge with the guy who beat him and made the false accusation (and uses the innocent new family to do it) and everybody just stands there.

It appears to me that the folks of Carrigstown are just what Bob said they were - cowards.

Will it be left like that or will somebody stand up to Louie and Zumo?

Before Boblet loose, I had hoped that when we saw Damien come in from the garden that he would defend Bob - at least out of his paranoia over Louie?
Or Tommy would realise that Louie was using his family to get at Bob?

Bob is no worse than the rest of them - Fair City is a cesspool of immorality. And that Louie - his face annoys me. I know it wasn't the actors fault, but he had a copy of "The Art Of War" when playing RISK - what a nob!!!

Just caught up on the last two eps! WOW!! Bobs speech at the end was amazers! He really stuck it to louie! Bless poor Leo standing up for him when no one else would! Bob really is an amazing actor. Someone here said their boyfriend stopped to watch, same here, my hubby was glued!
Sundays ep now is set up perfectly!! I am expecting it to be spectacular!
Damien and Suzanne's storyline has been brilliant ever since he had the affair

I also think Dolores is underused. She also is a lovely actor. I liked her flirting with Pete.
I was one who was vocal in my support of the Dillons, but now im unsure. For me, the only one who can hold their own is Tommy. He is gorgeous, and also seems very natural.
The young girl in the uniform, hasnt been in it enough to comment, but the black haired girl is very bad. Her scene when she was bawling about leaving college was about as bad as it gets.
Not a fan of the doctors either

    The jury is still out.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,030 ✭✭✭angel01

I am with you on the girl with the black hair, she is woeful in my opinion. Embarrassing at times even..

I felt so sorry for Bob and as much as I love Louie, he went way too far last night, It was just nasty :(

Though what annoys me about how Suzanne will react on Sunday, the way she tried to start an affair with Louie, hypocrite...

I can't believe Leo hadn't got the bottle to stand up for Bob - he let his weasel son talk him out of it - by the way why hasn't Dean told anybody Nessa is the reason Tracy left Carrigstown. And I think Carol was there for that scene - how come she hasn't remembered Nessa's face....

I'm not sure. Will watch it again, but my initial reaction was that she was cleverly using tears as a defence mechanism, to avoid an inquisition, which could escalate to family warfare. So the tears had to be a bit OTT. And it worked. Tommy has been portrayed as (maybe over)protective when it comes to his daughters. The doctor all week has been shown as investing her hopes in her (especially after the disappointment Neasa has proved) so the ingredients for a major family row are all present and correct. Cue (OTT) tears, situation defused, and Coimhe (sp?) escapes pretty lightly. An intelligent and clever response I think.

And I'll nail some colours here. Although it is too early to tell, I think this actor is going to prove to be really good. What odds OTT tears will be used again in the future as a defence mechanism? Perhaps at this point we should err on the side of not underestimating what an actor is bringing to the table.

On the Dillons, for me the jury is far from out. This new family is real, and has become part of the fabric of the soap in an extraordinarily short time. Compare and contrast how long it has taken other families in other soaps to settle in.

I think I've left my box for long enough now. The air is thin...can't breathe.

I wanted to shout at Damien last night to take the runners off the table - it's bad luck Damien - I hope nothing bad happens to him.... I'm really buying into Damien and Suzanne at the moment, both the actors are brilliant. Is Dolores going to provide more than a shoulder for Damien to cry on - or will that older woman (can never remember her name) come back to give Suzanne a punch.

    As opposed to what:D?

Nessa is the reason Tracy left didn't she set Dean up to see if he'd go for it and Nessa was the girl - and Carol was also present? In the words of Brian Lenihan Senior - that is my mature recollection.....

I don't think it was Neasa, deelite.
That whole set-up had something to do with the thug from Tracey's past (Ritchie?). I don't think Neasa had any involvement with that. She wasn't around then, was she? I think the first we saw of Neasa was when she & Damien got it together.

I was disappointe in Leo too. I can understand why Dean wanted to talk him out of it. He spent the morning cleaning maggots from the fridge, and presumably doing the fifty other jobs that you have to do when you know the health inspectors are coming. But Leo could have said something.

I wasnt impressed with Barry either, going along with the bullying.

It reminded me of a scene in a Western, where everyone truns their back on the hero. Now we know that Bob is going to ride back into town, I expect to see bodies in the street.

    I can't wait.

    /delurks

No, That girl was some prostitute. The thug who Tracy knew set it up so that she would flirt with Dean at the hotel and gave Dean some sob story that she was being harassed by some guy and asked if Dean would escort her to her room to give this other fictional guy the hint to leave her alone.
Dean obliged while Tracy and Carol watched (unknown to Dean) and they both jumped to the wrong conclusion.
I don't know if Carol eventually realised that she was wrong or not though.

    Anyway that girl wasn't Neasa.

Being reminded of that story makes me remember whow much I didn't like it.

Do we know if Tracey is coming back? I don't really miss her, which surprises me, but Dean is in a bit of a vacuum since she left.

Bob aside; the two best moments of last night were Esthers disappointment at winning first prize and Christys perfect timing. Coming in looking for his toe nail cutters as Carol was dreaming of sophistication and George Clooney.

God that story was badly finished!! Seemed very rushed. Yes i agree re. Dean, he has been at a loose end since that, very much a peripheral figure. although i like it when they have comedy scenes with him and Leo. Loved it when he was trying to get Leo a wingman. They should put him with Wayne and Damian maybe.

Or even kill off Sandie and have Shannon come live with Leo and Dean. Be interesting to see how they'd cope with her around full time.

      True Story... :D

      Get a room :P

      Smaller spoilers!

      Tuesday
Suzanne is a raving lunatic tonight as she finds out about Damien and Neasa. Angry, she confronts her so-called friend and brands her a filthy b***h. Careful now Suzanne, you don't want to run the risk of a nasty comeback. Zumo tries to call Charlotte but she is made to hang up. Upset and missing her brother, she convinces Vivienne to give him another chance. Cleo's 'dead mother' arrives at The Hungry Pig and with Robert away, she agrees to let Aoife stay over for one night.

      Wednesday
Robert returns home and sees Aoife. Worried that he's going crazy he asks Cleo what's going on. She comes up a plausible excuse that only dumbo Robert would believe. Aoife is in witness protection from a 'sex trafficking gang'. That's probably the funniest thing I've ever heard in Fair City. Finally, Zumo takes Charlotte to the park and is give her medication which has instructions on them but he can't read. After running around, Charlotte collapses.

      Thursday
Oh, this is getting out of hand now. Robert talks to Aoife about her new identity and won't let her out of the flat for fear someone with recognise her. He makes up a disguise and makes her wear it as she heads out. Hilarious. He's so gullible. Elsewhere, after refusing to teach Zumo how to read, Charlie has a change of heart and agrees to teach him, but on his terms. At first Zumo seems ok about it but when he sees his first reading material (which is a children's book) he is not happy, and the teacher pupil relationship breaks down.

Nah, I meant there's three daughters and they're all good-looking. The older blonde one is Neasa, played by Aoibhinn Garrihy. She's been in it on and off for a few months. She's something special, I think, but I like the whole family.

Just come across this article from the Daily Mail :eek:
Less than a year ago, she was being touted as a star of the RTÉ firmament, with an explosive Fair City storyline which earned her a nomination as TV’s top soap actress.

So when Fair City actress Ciara O’Callaghan disappeared from Carrigstown, the fictional home of the soap, in May, saying she wanted to take a break from the popular soap, many of her fans wondered why.
