They can teach you all they like, it doesn't mean that when you are faced with the drink, that you won't be tempted. Going through treatment anywhere doesn't change a thing. Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic.

People, places and things. She has no business in a pub.

Why has she no place in a pub? She could drink soft drinks, they do sell them you know??

So does the hungry pig. An alcoholic only out of recovery with a few months shouldn't tempt themselves by going into a pub.

Still... not as bad as Corrie where an alcoholic is about to open a bar....

Niamh and Orla are cousins, as far as I remember their mothers were sisters. Does that not make Cass Orla's grandad.

Cass would have been the father of Niamh's dad as they share the same surname. So he wouldn't be Orla's grandad....

I like Renee so I am glad her and Bob are coming back though I am not too sure where they will live now  I think Renee will be really surprised and I think she just expected Christy to be after her forever! .

I think they will live in Charlie Kelly's house - and I think Bob is going to give Orla a job working in his businesses abroard (that will write her out during her pregnancy!!!)

Ye will probably shoot me for asking this but it keeps me awake at night wondering and if anyone knows the answer to this one of you in here will......... Did Lana ever come back/show up/get found/....... dead or alive please? I missed a bunch of episodes a while after she went missing and I often get a feeling something happened with her storyline whilst I was away. I loved Lana, and her all time classic line to convince Leo that not alone should she keep two diamond rings but that she needed 8 more has been used in my house many times "But Leo, I have ten fingers!" Loved her.

I'm sure Lana was murdered. Her body was buried in the mountains.

Yes, poor Lana was missing for a long while, then the guy whodunnit (I forget his name) started trying to put the blame on Leo after telling him where the body was to be found. He went over the cliff after fighting with Leo.
And thanks to Captain Negative for the enjoyable radio interview..:)

Wasn't it that drug dealer Terrence who murdered Lana, led Leo to the grave in the mountains and then they had that scuffle. I'm sure he was HIV and was the one that got Lara pregnant.

It's coming back to me now. Remember we had Leo worrying and going for the HIV test :)

Leo was getting a lot of testing done, then, as I am sure it wasn't long after that story that he had paternity testing done! He was all tested out!:D..I think he is a good actor in the show, he certainly put in a lot of hours on some story lines.

Not to mention doing a LOT of bed hopping when he first came into the show:D

I don't think he has lost that urge yet, Eddie; I haven't seen the last few weeks of the show but the bould Leo still had some lead in his pencil when I saw him last on the soap. A big eye for the ladies.

I honestly can't understand your opinion. The hungry pig is hardly somewhere you go to socialise ffs. It is a blooming diner. You go there to eat not drink soft drinks.

I don't drink alcohol so you are telling me I am not allowed go there because I don't drink.

I don't need to go. I am well aware of what being an alcoholic is like. My mother is one. I have seen what drink can do, the devastation it can cause. I just don't see why you need to make somewhere a place where people can't go, it is about recovering from your addictions and dealing with them and not letting the addiction overpower you and not letting the addiction win.

Coming back on this thread professing opinions that could offend others is not on, this is a friendly thread and don't try and cause trouble please.

How am I causing trouble. I've battled alcohol myself since the age of 18. It took me 9 years to get sober. I was in and out of A.A, staying sober for periods, then going to pubs with friends when they were drinking and I was on coffee. The smell of Alcohol, the sight of people drinking alcohol, it all adds up to your defences weakening when you are in an enviorment where people are drinking. I'm not denying that you have seen alcoholism, but have you actually battled the addiction yourself? No.

What does everyone think about Leo as a character? Is he more suited to the dark stories or the light ones?

Probably his biggest moments have been in the stories with Billy Meehan, and with Lana's murder. Despite that, I think he should get a lot more comedy. There is something funny about him that is very hard to define. I would like to see them explore that more.

Someone pointed out last week that the show is getting a lot funnier, and I think it's true. I also think it's the right decision, particularly in these times.

They should still have big dramatic soapy stories. Bill trying to sell his alcoholic wife to Seamus is a classic piece of villainy, and there is obviously some huge drama coming up with fires and trials and what-not. But the more they keep the laughs coming, the better it gets.

Who else do we think is a possible source of comedy? Are there any buried treasures in the cast?

I think I have stepped out of line, I guess we both have experiences, mine were the worst you could have imagined and you don't just need to have been an alcoholic to see the damage it does and still does to me. I apologise for what I said. Hopefully we can move on.

Personally I like Leo with a mix of the light and the serious, I love his character and he is one of my favourites. He can do both roles quite well and he is a very funny and enjoyable character to watch.

I think there is a mix of serious and comedy bits to the soap. For instance EE rarely does comedy and it survives. :)

I think Carol, Robert, Deegan, Dermot, Jo, Keith, Ray all spring to mind for good comedy scenes.

That tribute from Dermot to Mags was very real, wasn't it? Nicely written.

I hope the actress is doing well.

Robert is the best for comedy. He's so funny and dull, yet so cute:o
