Be sure you don't drive to the club alone.

Yeah, it'll work. I use my provisional license anytime I'm asked for ID, which I will admit is more often than I'd like but I do like very young. Put up my photo on Boards before and the general consensus was I looked 17, whereas I'm almost 25! :D

    And don't drink and drive!

Some places can be picky and only accept Garda ID.. rare enough though!

You have to be accompanied by someone who has held a full licence for at least two years (and they can't be your sister).

    Not your ornery onager

Yeah.. and if they don't let you in the door, someone with a full driving license has to escort you from the vicinity of the club.

Slight offtopic but on the topic of provisional licences - I have one question Do pilots get provisional licences ?? :(:(
Why does this country with so many road deaths allow provisional licences - Its a joke.

You're seriously blaming the amount of deaths on the roads with issuing provisional driving licenses?

Pfft.. yeah, because drink driving isn't an issue in his country at all!

How else are people supposed to learn?

It does happen.. but like I said, it is rare enough.

An example in a post from a year ago:
i was in a pub last night where there was a sign saying 'only official garda id will be accepted' it got me thinking...im 26 and dont have garda id. all i have is my passport from 1999, now what if i was refused and asked for id and i turned around and said all i have is my passport..garda id's came out out after i was legal to drink....?

i always found it quite a stupid idea to carry a passport around all the time..

its not as if they are easy to replace or cheap to replace either..

and they are really the only way to travel abroad so losing one or having one stolen (which are usually sold off so some eejit can illegal enter a country while pretending to be you) is not what you want to happen to one, especially when you have a holiday booked..
